HID H4 Bi-Xenon for the LT1 WS6, PICS
Well it has been awhile since I posted any progress on the car. I finally got all the custom pieces made and installed on the HID kits for my car. Made some custom billet plates / brackets and holders that are gloss black powdercoated with all stainless hardware. I tried to engineer some good positions for all the hardware to be hidden with the nose back on the car, but at the same time still have access to the ballast / ignitors and wiring if a problem arises. Actually the setup is really trick in person, I don't know how well it will translate in the pictures ? I purchased a H3 6000k HID kit for the foglights, which will be on the car and finished in a week or two after I finsih the modifications to the foglight bracket to accept the new H3 glass housing, more on that later The main lights were changed to H4 (Bi-Xenon (Hi / Lo) 8000k HID kit (4x6) glass projector housings. The project is not completely finished, but very close. I still have to finish cleaning up all the wiring, but that will happen in a week or two. Hopefully, in a couple of weeks I will be able to show everything finished including the foglights and brackets complete.
PS: for the guys with LT1 birds I finally figured out the infamous shaking headlight syndrome. The lights are rock solid now after the repair, no more shakey lights going down the road at night I will post all that I have done with the next installment of pics and info.
Here are a few pics, more to come....
(bracket mockup complete)
(passenger underside in position) (brackets in the middle don't have the ignitors installed with the cover, soon !)
(passenger underside)
(passenger sideshot)
(passenger front)
(drivers top, below headlight bucket)
(front shot with glass projector (4x6) installed)
(driver front, closeup)

nice setup and thats a damn clean install. I look forward to seeing how it comes out (beam pattern and all that). We will have to compare HID setups . I'm glad more is being done with the crappy LT1 bird headlights because they are so bad its amazing how they were allowed on the cars in the first place.
I am also very interested in seeing the fix to the shaky headlight problem. My left lamp shakes on bumps just enough to bother me.

thats going to be 1st class, you do good work man.
Do you know what kind of cool light setups for LT1 Camaros there are around? I found online a burgundy LT1 with double PITA style headlights or something like that, the guy posted how to make the brackets and everything, looked kind of ricer at first...then out came the new Vette, low & behold the Vette looks badass.

96silverram do me a favor if the bumper cover is still off if you don't care.
The mounting support where the metal bumper supports bolts too. Measure the top bolt to the other side top bolt and tell me the distance in inches???
I am trying to figure it out b/c of my Front Mount Intercooler and I am lazy to just take the bumper of for one measurement you know.
BTW those headlights look badass

AWSOME work I love the look. I look forward to a write up also. I will convert over just to be able to see clearly a night. Here I thought it was just me trying to drive in the dark. I would be able to throw away my night vison goggles. You know how hard it is to get somebody to race you with those on.
P.S Please include some pricing for the parts used.
Thanks

I'm going to finally do the write-up this week now that I have had a chance to drive the car with the HID's at night to see if the lights still shake. It appears that the lighting is rock solid on the car. I drove on some pretty uneven surfaces tonight with no ill-effects to the lights shaking. I will try to do a quick write-up by next friday for all the 93-97 T/A guys/gals.
