there is tom cowle who went 11.48 with stock heads and cam. But that car was def gutted to the max. I have gone 11.99 stock heads and cam and I know nothing compared to a lot of the other guys. Still have mostly full interior. These cars can really go with the right details in the setups.

This is what kills me when know nothings get on here and say how shitty the CC306 is.
People running the 306 cam only with stock heads, restalled converter("2200rpm cuz its a street car") with 3.23 geared cars shifting at 5900 didn't help.

That cam has too much spread between intake & exhaust for an NA LT1. It needs more gear and converter to work as well as it can.
I don't know why anybody would shift it at 5900. Race track testing we did showed a bone stock LT1 F body, with only tuning, to run quickest shifted at 6000. The "hot" cam was quickest shifted at 6500, the CC306 at 6600.
Stock B bodies were a different deal, very weak valve springs from the factory.

I even saw guys put the "hot" cam in Impala SS cars with stock torque converters and the stock 3.08 gears. LOL
As you can well imagine, they slowed down at the track.

Almost as funny as some of them putting 58mm TBs on stock Impalas with their stock 5600/5700 RPM valve springs. Why?

Agreed, and I can't count the times I've read "Well I seen't my good friend's friend's uncle's cousin ******** from down yonder in the holler pull on a 306 cammed car and his was a bone stock!!111" posts here and on cz28.com.

My car ran stock short block from the factory(original rods, rod bolts, crank and pistons). With h/c/i, it ran the best of 11.0@122 NA!

Correcto Dwayne. Still, 73K stock block, never opened the oil pan except to replace a new oil pan gasket. I went solid roller as to see and experiment what it does. It's all in the fun.

Car is stout, runs better than most the stroker motor cars on here. I have wondered what the right solid roller combo would do in a stock bottom end car.

I got 11.6 with stock short block, home ported heads, and off the shelf cam before weighing in at about 3700lbs.

My stock shortblock combo went 11.11 at 121.65

chas010 in here got high 10's. I think he went 10.94 at 122.68

Both of our cars are light. Mine was roughly 3075 and chas' is 3020. DA on my run was around 1200ft, not sure on his. We both go to the same track.

What also needs to be noted since DA is such an issue these days, is the DFW f-body groups who've done low 11's with the setups mentioned in this thread did so during the summers at Texas motorplex at 500ft ele. Back then the strip didn't open until May and closed in August.

Weird how you ran the same times at Cecil at a much lower DA...
