Default Stock WS6...not for much longer

Right now...I've got a stock '97 WS6 w/ Ram Air. I was wondering what I would be putting down at the wheels with the following mods...I'm ordering them pretty soon:

1.6 Roller Rockers
Hooker LT Headers
Summit X-Pipe
Dynomax Bullets(True Duals)
160 Thermo(not that it matters)

it doesnt come stock with 275 at the wheels....the engine is rated at275, but a 97 WS6 is rated at 305, but then again not at the wheels.

ok, lets put the flywheel and rear wheel hp in perspective. bone stock(plugs/wires coil tune up) 96 caprice 9c1 at 70k. rated at 260(flywheel) it put down 218rwhp on a dynojet. thats about an 18-19% loss thru an auto. so if the car was rated at 275, you can expect, about 230 to the wheels stock. so if your at 305 hp, you can expect about 257 stock. add your 30 expected hp, and your right at the 280-290 (282 by my math) that was predicted. now you can't say it WILL add exactly 30 hp, but it's a nice estimate.

*note, this was for demonstration, and a ball park, not exacts.*

That's completely wrong because the LT1 was underrated (like the ls1).

LT1s do not put down 230 stock. 250 is about the minimum you see (and 260 or so for manuals).

Thanks a bunch guys, but I got one more question....

Would I have a HP increase if I got a CAI too or does Ram Air do the trick(I know there is controversy)?

From what I have been told the LS1 lids are the best flowing intake. So you could do a LS1 lid conversion or you could just cut the bars from your Ram Air lid. Thats what I would do just cause I like the look of the Ram Air Assembly and for the money you prolly wont make that much more power over you RA setup.

well actually that LT1 put down 218. But I know you are refering to the F-body one. But I agree, I thought my math was wrong. i was thinking that is way too low. i was just looking at page I typical go to for individual mod dyno results, and a 96 6 sp ws6 Firebird put down 280 stock. http://www.ws6.com/mod-2.htm If you hit back it shows dyno's for other smal bolt ons, which I'm sure will interest some others.

Yeah I should have been more specific, i.e LT1 f-bodies do not dyno that low, it's possible other cars have.
