Default LT4 HOTCAM guys..

I am making this thread for all of us with the Hotcam. I just want to see who is out there with it, and what you are running with it. Alot of people **** on it, as well as the other LT4 stuff, so I thought I would take the time to open up a little chill time for us.

I am running the LT4 Hotcam, LT4 1.6 Roller Rockers, LT4 Extreme Duty Full Roller Timing Chain with the newer Water Pump Drive Gear, and lots of other little stuff. My old Engine got me the time below, so to state it wouldn't be really accurate, seeing how the new Engine will be Forged Pistons and Forged Rods, higher Compression, Ported Heads, and completely Balanced. And the Car will be a little lighter..

I loved mine. The way it loped with the cut-out open. I had the Kit, Jet-Hot LTs, Hooker cat back, 24#ers, Holley 52MM TB, Moroso CAI, all the BS bolt-ons; pulley, TB bypass, vented opti swap etc, etc. My motor ended up being a 357ci with a PCMFORLESS mail tune. I put down 323RWHP and it ran 8.41 in the 1/8th on street tires<Not me driving. (John02SS was driving.)
If I were going to build a cruiser/ tame DD the HotCam would get the nod.

I don't have it personally, but, I have seen that it is being used more commonly than any other cam in the 383's and such. Alot of people bash on it, but, I feel its a great cam overall. I'm sure if you had extensive headwork and put in the hotcam, you will see better numbers than what people are seeing with stock castings. I'm personally thinking about running it myself.

i ran it for about 20 miles til it spun a bearing. Loped good, don't know bout the power though, never got to nail it. But from what i hear, with a gear swap it makes a really good daily driver cam. I was running 4.56 gears so it would have been a great choice for me.

You guessed it. It is a 6 speed. That time was with worn ET Streets. 13.00 on street tires with a 2.0 60'. Had a vid of it spinning through the 60' mark with the ET Streets.
I figure if I actually get a good launch it should do at least mid 12s.
Your car also has about 400lbs on mine. No weight removed.

I love the Hot cam! I have a 9.5.1 383 with ported heads with stock valves, stock lt1 intake, holley 58mm t/b,hooker long tubes w/mufflex,th400 w/4000 stall,12bolt w/4.10 gear. With the stock trans and converter it dynoed 327rwhp and 385ftlbs tq(never dynoed with th400) The car weighs 3250, it does a 1.53 60ft with the tires in the air a foot with the trans break. It runs 11.78 @111mph with th400. 12.23 w4l60e sliding into gears. Soon it will be supercharged with different cam.
