how to remove ABS

Default how to remove ABS

i have 95 camaro z28, i would like to remove the ABS from the car , what is needed to make brake system work? i assume a proportioning valve is the item where and how do i get or locate what is needed?

Do you want it removed for weight saving, or just to not have ABS? If just don't want ABS, then simply unplug the EBCM, all of the hydraulics will work normally.

SJM abs delete kit is all you need. Works great, I would also recomend getting his flare tool.

Shon was great to deal with and the kit is really nice. The instructions are easy to follow and very thorough.

Take a second to read champ. Scroll about a 1/3 down the page and there is a title that says "ABS DELETE KITS" -- I'm thinking you should look in there.

Go through and read what each kit includes -- if you don't have any of the necessary tools or parts -- you might want to look at grabbing the complete kit . There is also some kits that include a solenoid for a line-lock. Depends on what you need as to which one you should grab.

If you don't mind not using a proportioning valve, here is the cheapest way to do it.

Tube cutter I already had this

All the tubing you need is on the car. No need to buy brake line. No need for a proportioning valve on the back brakes because fronts lock up first (with LS1 brake upgrade).

I will be deleting abs. Will the brake light come on? If so, is there a way to turn it off without tearing into the dash?

I didnt use a proportioning valve eaither and it works fine. I have slicks and skinnies and dont lock up eaither of them and i tried. So IMO you dont need it. And i made mine for under $10. Get some fittings from Murrys (they got a good selection) and a flair tool and your good to go. While i was making everything i put in a line lock as well..... ITs real easy, dont be scared.
