Is he asking those with small cammed 383s to post or just giving us his numbers? I am so confused, but it don't take much...My cam is a 226/234 .568" and the times are in my sig...dyno numbers are all over the place..400rwhp on a dynojet 385 on a Mustang...Track times will continue to improve...there's still a wee bit more in her....

Either way, nice Monte...

I bet that 219/219 purrs like a kitten at idle. I love it. My 230/236 has a bit of a chunk to it, but having the stock muffler on the car hides a lot of it.

Then again, you need to go back to stock-ish looking wheels if you're going to continue to run a 219/219. The meats and skinnies look means you should be running a cc306 or bigger.

Lol, i feel like my thread was hijacked by streetwarrier Just playing but yea the 219 219 camshaft makes awsome torque numbers matched with the intake im using. All ligenfelter ****, works great. on the dyno it was all 93 octane pump gas nothing special. was a tad lean toward the end, around 14.3 i think

Im not trying to be an *** but street warrior, You have LT4 intake AFR heads considerably larger camshaft 219 219 .525 .525 vs 230 236 .544 .555 im using stock casting heads and u make little more hp and less tq to the wheels. Is this setup tuned?

See that to me is a better way to go. If you can get that amount of power in there with that range of RPM and with untouched heads you've done well. Even if you hogged the heads out and made another 50RWHP, you'd probably never have to rev it past 6K to do it and you'll still have an engine that'll last.

And you have a Super Ram Intake. The numbers should be a bit higher. I had it dyno'd with 60 miles on the clock. Also my fuel pressure regulator was way off 57 PSI so I was running way to rich. Now that the motor is broken in and my fuel problem is fixed I'm sure I "should" be higher. Yes I have AFR's but they are meant for a cam with up to a .650 Lift, I'm bearly doing .550. Intake is not even ported, I'm sure I am very restricted here. Talked to port pro's about some head, intake porting and polishing with a custom grind which "should" put me in the 440/450 RWHP range. I also have full weight of the car. First time I ran it it was 12.4 with 2.1 on the 60' @ 116 mph. No traction what so ever. 2nd Run I broke the drive shaft (LS1) at the line. I'm sure I can break into the high 11's @ 3600 curb weight

Hey, I'm a huge Lingenfelter fan (more so when John was alive..) but I ran the 211/219 in my LPE 383 for 9 years before going to the Joe O. 226/234 in there now, with stock castings also...I was going to do the 219/219 .560" (w/ 1.6s) and the LT1 Super ram intake, but it became a bit cost prohibitive...Keep kicking *** with the small cam...Its loads of fun to show folks your tailights with a weenie cam...I think the smaller cams move the torque curve down the rpm scale and help somewhat heavier cars (I'm 3600 raceweight) get out quick and I only have to go to 6300 to make peak hp...

and he has an auto which eats up bout 30-50 more rwhp than a 6 speed, its really a simple fact that some combo's work well together, and some dont... even with good parts if they are mismatched they wont make the numbers. Not trying to dick on anyone in here, but honestly if you look at it more people go fast with ported stock castings than with AFR's. AI, TEA, and LLoyd get over 280 cfm from LT1 heads... thats as much as AFR 210cc's flow. There are alot of things that affect #'s... I am guessing yall dont live in the same area either... weather, time of year, where you live, all these things affect it to...

Besides... I have never been staged up at the track and looked over and said "HOLY ****!!!! ITS A DYNO!!! THAT THING HAS TO BE FAST!!!"
***** dyno numbers... I put down 313 through a th-350 and ran 11's on motor... Dyno's are for tuning, tracks are where you race
