Forged rods/pistons/studded 2 bolts/t76 10psi??
Budget motor built for my car kind of as a test block to test out everything on the car. Do you guys think my engine will last? Its a stock crank/stock 2bolt caps studded with forged scat capscrew Ibeams/srp -24CC pistons/plasma moly rings. With the headgaskets the compression should be around 8.8:1. I plan on runnning a TC76 at no more than 10psi.Ill have meth/alchy as well.(car wont rely on it just as an added protection) The cam is a 220/220/LE2 heads and I dont plan on spinning the motor past 6200 rpms. You guys think (with the proper tuning) it will last at least a season?
My biggest concern is getting the turbo kit(half PTK/half custom) 100% perfect, along with the rest of the car such as tranny, rear, suspension, weight redux(done a **** load so far) and then worry about spending 5,000$ on a short block. Id feel much better about blowing a 2000$ block(since this is my first turbo V8)..but it would be completely pointless if it wont even last.

haha... only 10psi?
The bottom end will hold to a lot more...
i say smack it with 15# at least. As long as you got good hardware and a good tune, you will be surprised. I bet it takes a lot, and could make a lot of power.
AND it will last longer than a season.... jsut get the ring gap right.
lol.. you are being REALLLY conservative.... Im gunna run that much on a lot more compression.... lol

Thats what I was thinking. So you think I should be safe with a 6200rpm limit?..I know I was turning a stock block to 6700rpms all day every day for over a year with no problems, it was only heads/cam though so it wasnt making more than 400rw.

try to stay under 6.... if you could keep it at 5500 or less it would last forever...
