ls1 torque vs lt1 torque
Even a small 2800 would make a big difference in your car
I am getting MT Drag Radials on it also before I hit the Track.
The LT1 though has that nice deep roar that the LS1 doesn't have, and it's a true 350 C.I.D.
but...
The feeling is not the same. The lt1 as is peak torque sooner than a ls1.
The thing thats make us think that the lt1 got more torque is the feeling that this engine give. This engine feel really ruff compare to an ls1 wich seems to much civilise to my taste.
They lsx base are stronger(hp and tq),faster(stock vs stock) but i dont care.I ve driven tested the 2 bases(lsx/ltx) 2 years ago and call me crazy but even with less power i choose the lt1 and dont worry here the money eas not an issue.
And now with the saving money i do my best to boost this last sbc style real 350 baby and kick some lsx ***.
Wait, it already has. How bout we all just shut up and drive. They both kill Mustangs with no problems..

The Reason the LT1 peaks so soon on torque is because of head flow plain and simple, heck you put a set of ported heads on a stock LT1 and it would perform like a stock LS1.
When you look at the LS1 head cc numbers it is deceiving because the runners IN the head are shorter than on an LT1, so the 170 CC LT1 compared to the 200CC LS1 is rediculous, it would be like the LT1s stock 170 CCs compared to a 210 CC LT1 head.

Under this is a 6.6l 402ci LS2 Ironblock Stroker, it will have the L92 Heads on it, they have been milled .025 for 66cc Chambers to get 10.7:1 Compression, L76 Intake with LS2 Fuel Injection System, the Cam is a TSP MS3 specs: 237/242, .603/.609, 112LSA, and a Yank SS3600 Stall.
It will be nasty
Instead of running close to the LS1, why not beat the ever living **** out of them..
I just figured that if I can get in a LS2, then I'll be able to get in what comes out after the LS7..that and I spent nothing on this compared to what I would have spent on a LT1 to get the same power I am about to have.
I've driven an Auto LT1 and it felt like a combination of an L98 and LS1. Felt like an L98 at lower rpms, and ...a slower version of an ls1 at higher rpms.
This new Engine is what I decided to go all out with, so might as well do it with somethin nasty..It's going to be one hell of a sleeper..
The main thing is the design with the LSX Heads. The SBC/LTX lowends are more than capable of some high RPM's, the Heads are where it is limiting it. Comparing them, it's 23* LTX/SBC Heads vs. 18* LSX Heads. Then you add in bigger Valves, Ports, Chambers, you get some good power. I plan on running my 402 close to 7000 RPM's with the Cam I want, it's just how it's designed. It's coming off the line at about 3400RPM with the Stall, and it will pull stupid strong up to 6500RPM easily.
These are the L92 Heads I am using.. they flow better than 95% of the Aftermarket LSX Heads. These are the best on the market right now, and go with the L76 or LS7 Intake only.
Valves: 2.16" INT/ 1.59" EXH, 66cc Chamber
Flow: 325/210CFM's, 4.000 Bore @ .600 lift.

This is an old post I found, but this genius was wrong. The LT1 does produce more torque than the LS1 around 2400 rpms. However the LS1 is the superior engine.Produces more peak TQ and HP than the LT1 combined with insane top end power.
