A lot of people will say to do away with the EGR, but I am keeping it. It won't hurt performance and causes minimal clutter.

I believe that having the egr operational leads to cooler combustion chamber temps, which could help you stay away from detonation and knock retard. I have no evidence to support that, but I was told by someone much more knowledable than myself.

I do know that the last time I disabled an EGR, ther was a very noticeable decrease in fuel milaege.

So it wont hurt performance to keep the egr? Will all the emmsions stuff...just hook right up were it supposed to? O2 sensors?

The Air and EGR should hook right up. I bought the Pacesetter's with the emisions hook ups, but I will be plugging the AIR connections and deleting it. I am only going to use the EGR. If I ever get into a situation where I have to pass an emissions test I will have all of the connections to put the AIR back on.

If you go with long tubes the O2 sensors won't reach the new location. You will have to use the kit included with the headers to extend the O2's, or you can buy plug in O2 extensions.

When I installed mine they were EGR but it made me mad try to put them in. So i cut off the EGR and welded them up smooth then they went in literally 2 secs.

I took off my EGR, but I have a Cam. We had a discussion about this a while back, if you are stock, keep the EGR. When you get a Cam, then you can delete it and you will be good. The LT4's didn't have EGR from the factory cause of the Cam profile.

Your preference.

What about a car that has almost every bolt on out there? I really want to clean up my engine bay when I get my longtubes, will it hurt to delete the egr??

So is it agreed I will buy the pacesetter long tube headers, with the egr and they will bolt right on to factory emmisions without hurting perf?

And then when I get around to a cam I will just plug it up?

The only reason i have to just buy it with the egr now is that i am a dumbass when it comes to cars and i will probly not plug all the emmsions up right, and my car will run like ****.
