Default stroker kit, forged or not?

i recently posted that i want a 396 stroker... but i dont know if i want forged or not? its quite a bit more and i bet its worth it, especially b ecause i want it to last several years and atleast 50k miles of daily driving and racing on the side.

well anyone is going to tell you, forged is always stronger. but it all depends, if your going to build it on a 4 bolt main and spray it, then you want a forged crank. if you are building a 2 bolt, you are ok with a cast. as for the pistons and rods definately get forged on those.

if your running any sort of n2o, or FI, do forged to meet the application, but your going N/A you can get away with cast. Personally I always builder stronger.

Overbuilt is the only way to go if you have the initial $$$ to do it...12 years ago I went with a Callies crank, Oliver 5.85" rods and JE pistons and have never looked back...I have 47,000 miles of drag racing and daily driving and it just keeps getting faster...Do it once, do it right...

I would agree... I went cast crank and though I've had no problems down there I always wish I had spent a few more $ for some peace of mind...

2006 - 12 years = 1994.. and you have a 1995 formy. im confused.

Car was delivered end of 94 and was immediately modded with less than 300 miles on it....Sorry for confusion...its only been 11.75 years...my bad...geezzz...For all those concerned change the reading to almost 12 years...
