Default Intake Elbow do anything?

Does an Intake Elbow actaulyl help with the car's performance? Woulfd getting an aftermarket Intake Elbow increas my power/ throttle response, anything or is it just a "dress up the engine" mod? Also, Is there any Intake elbow that wouldn't fit with the K&N Intake Kit?

the trickflow and the vortech i know work with the k&n intake. as far as performance, they definately help if your stock elbow is torn up. and a little because theres no more donky dong hanging off the bottom. its nothing really noticable unless your old one was leaking.

Also, the little cone thing hanging from the bottom can really get in the way of a large electric water pump.. so I found out the hard way. lol

if your intake elbow was torn and leaking it would run shitty to begin with... Anyway, the aftermarket elbows are just as smooth as the stock rubber minus that damn pipe thing ("donkey dong" - haha..). No difference other than looks and reliability.

.........i agree with hyperzone, they also work well with nitrous nozzles. screws right in and holds them tight.

"donkey dong" = resonator. It's supposed to quiet the intake charge... but who wants that??

I wonder if that's the new little whine my engine makes, since I put the vortec one on lol

Anyways, they use the better neoprene-rubber sleeves to mount. The stock one is that rubber that always folds on the bottom where you can't see, sucking in air. Which on the MAF causes a vacuum leak I like mine, looks nice
