lt1 crate engine does anyone know where i can find lt1 crate engines? mine is blown and i am looking for a new one. i was told by a shop that the can get them for 3800 but i would like to do some shopping and see if i cant get one cheaper than that to leave a little extra cash for mods. any input would help, thanks.
you might be better off looking for a junked camaro or ta and pullin the engine out of it. thats what i did. i bought a totalled 93 z28 with 71000 miles on it for $1500 and used the engine, tranny, rear, and other stuff and i still got well over 500 dollars worth of rims and doors and other parts. if you can find a deal like that it would certainly be the way to go
ok maybe so, but if you could find a deal like that, you would basically have a spare trans, rear end, fuel pump, computer, gauge cluster, drive shaft and a lot of other parts for 1000 bucks, and spend the other 3000 on turning the motor into a LT4 383 and still have the other parts for when you break sumthing, i would have to go that route before forking out 4000 for just the motor

189K. all stock never been pulled from the car, never rebuilt. mobil 1 synthetic every 2500 miles. im the 2nd owner of the car. the engine runs absolutely fine, no knocks/tings/pings etc. i just bought a 383 because the miles were getting up there. you could buy it and drop it right in and get another 30K out of it. but i would recommend rebuilding it.
