How do I check the VATS and everything associated with it?

How do I check the VATS and everything associated with it? The car will start and turn over but once it actually starts to run, it'll only last a second or so. We've eliminated several other problems. I have a spare key. I'm going to try that the next time I can get to the car.

That wont be VATS. If your VATS is broken, you will turn the key and the starter solenoid wont engage, therefore nothing will happen. I would check your fuel and spark.

I said we've eliminated several problems already. The spark is fine, there is adequate fuel pressure. Something is not letting the PCM continuously send fuel/keep the injectors activated, etc. That's why it dies immediately after startup. We just don't know yet since it could be any number of things.
