its not that the lt1 is stronger out of the hole, its as strong out of the hole and not as strong up top. So how do u make up for half a second up top? a good set of gears and exhaust correct? lol i mean i am sure we can get a conservative 3/4 of a second in our lt1s with gears exhaust and cai. And i have yet to see ANY A4 LS1 lay it down from a dead stop EVER! My other friend in his 98 formy did a break torque and barely kept it spinning into second. LOL i have another guy with a beat up old 160 thousand mile 94 M6 formula and he will run neck and neck with tony in his LS1 WS6 with long tubes and full exahaust (raspy sounding thing) until my friends 120 limiter kicks in w his formula. Like i said i have alot of driving experience with the LS1 and frankly i was not that over impressed. Louies 99 SS m6 got beat 3 times in a row by an A4 LS1 01 vette. They both hit it at 70 and the vette jsut walks away. His SS equipped with a borla, short shifter, wisper lid and UD pulley, lol that old man in his stock A4 ls1 vette made us look shabby in lou's SS. I guess i could go on and on with endless amounts of stories but the facts amount to that the LS1 wont really do much over the lt1 until 100. Now if a couple guys (one lt one ls) feel like ebating there cars upto 150 than ya the stock LS1 will pull a car or 2 ahead but c mon guys, realisticlly most races are over by 100, atleast around here, i mean it isnt often that we get to 100MPH roll and than hit it where the ls1 would shine.

I don't know about that.. I know plenty of people here with A4 LS1's that can burn them pretty good from a complete stop. Personally I would rather have it hook and go instead of sit and spin.

Anytime you would like to line up with my car from 0-60 or 0-80 i would be glad to show you that I can take you out of the hole and put cars on you and all i am is a somwhat bolt on ws6. I have raced my buddy who has a 94 z, my friend who has a 95 z, and my buddy who just bought a 97 z. the 94 is stick, the 97 is stick, and the 95 is auto....nobody is with me on the launch and two of the three have much more track expirience then i do. I am not some driving god. Im sorry man but its not hard to take an lt out of the hole...it doesnt really require talent....all it takes is lowering your tire psi slipping the clutch and thats it!!!!!!!!!!!!

The biggest thing to learn is how to adjust and drive your car. You can have all the power in the world, you have to get it to the ground and keep it planted there.

Well the most important thing is that even though the LT1 is 15 years old it is still beating or hanging very close to new stock mustangs. The Ford Mustang GT is just now competeing with 15 year old technoledgy.

Exactly. I was talking to a friend about that the other day. He just got a new '06 GT Mustang and was wondering how it would do against my car. He wanted to line them up, so we did and i proceeded to stomp the shiiiit out of that car. I am trying to get him to go to the 1/4 with me in a couple of weeks just to see what it will do.

Exactly what i was saying. If you own an LT1 or an LS1 you can still beat a new stock Mustange GT.

listen YELLOWMONSTER87 i am not about to sit here and throw these internet challanges out at each other but i really doubt u are pulling me out of any hole, lol im on mickey thompson ET streets and a 373 rear end, i really dig off the line, o ya and i had pulled the factory alluminum cylander heads, sent them over to oddy's automotive where they where intake/exhaust ported, bowl ported multi angle valve job all that good stuff, so i really dont know if ud beat me, frankly i dont care, i am the first one to say its not all about speed, but trust me on this one i dont REALLY think it would go down the way u say so, but whatever, i still love the LS1, and to be honest id probably have one in my collection today if all the ones that passed through my hands werent all camaros , ls1 or not id take a 93-97 formula or TA by a long shot over a 98 and up camaro IMO

Dude, you sound like you are a little kid..
You are going to come in here and start crap after me and Pepe kicked you out of that one thread..come on.

I have the same setup, MT ET Streets with 3.73's, a little bit of Stall, and a damn good Posi with some Suspension, and it pulls wicked out of the hole. Any car with a better setup is going to get me, that's just how it is. It does pull alot of LS1's though at the Track, even the decently modded ones.

The main topic of this thread was how to beat a Stock LS1. Ofcourse some of our well modded LT1 setups here, like mine, will absolutely destroy a stock LS1 Car. Stock LS1's at the Track are usually pulling 13.6's to 13.9's on average from what I have seen. Plain and simple, it's just a better Engine, cause it's newer Technology, and a hell of alot better design. The 15yr old LT1 though is not too shabby itself, coming in about 1/10 to 1/4 second behind it on average.

I was going to say that earlier, I Have not been pulled on the street by a LS1 yet even the Vettes but I did not want to brag because there is alway someone faster.
