My 94 Z A4 has a hot cam with LT4 heads and headers. It put down 315 to the tire with a very very mild PCM4Less tune. It runs 13.2's with a 2800 converter and stock tires/gearing. I love the idle, sounds mint. I think the car could go alot better with a more aggresive tune.

Yea, it should..mine is real agressive.
I am coming close to mid 12's, and I have stock Heads, stock Stall, but gears also. I want a Stall in that thing, hopefully with the MT DR's, it will get 12.3's.

I can almost smell that caprice dude sh..ing on his self over us who actually like the hot cam.Usually he jumps all over the hot cam lovers. For some of us who are on a tight budget you cant beat the package.

Ok. I'm going with the hot cam kit. I will port the stock heads. gasket match the intake. Install long tubes.(already have a cat back and cai). Get a tune. Install a vig 3200 converter. IT has 3.23s and suspesion work. What will it run on motor? And with a 150 shot? Ballpark it.

LOL +100

Here ya go, just got home from the dyno. My stupid hotcammed LT1 just put down 339.1 hp at the wheels blowing through the stock exhaust manifolds.

*edit* This was done on an eddy current dyno as well.

You should me managing a better ET with LT4 heads, the Hotcam and headers, expecially with a 2800 stall.
What are your 60 foots?
Even with a mild tune and a decent 60 ft, say around 1.85- 2.05, you should be in the 12's.

1.6 RR's
CSI water pump
Borla y-pipe
Flowbastard exhaust
March pullies
Lingenfelter CAI
Granatelli MAF
Speed Secrets tune

That's 'bout it for the power dept.

Oh yeah, for those naysayers that the Granatelli ain't worth nothin', I swapped it today in between runs. Gained 7 rwhp. Torque did move around a bit in the rpm range but not enough to write home about. Yes, I still think $330 for a new Granatelli MAF is too much, but a used one for ~$150 makes it a decent gain for the money.

I cant remember who but someone slammed down 380rwhp with the hot cam and an Ed Wright tune.He posts on here quite often maybe he will chim in.I know, I know, 380 with the hot cam ,theres no way, but Ed Wright does a hell of a tune.I still say you cant beat the price for the package deal.Hot cam,longtubes,cai,3"cat back,tune,4.10's,dr's,150 shot, and you have yourself an high 11 second car or lower with a basically stock block and not a whole lot of the ol'ladies shoe money.LONG LIVE THE GENERAL.

You might want to STFU that guy has a car a hell of a lot heavier than yours running good numbers. I myself have talked to him PM about some stuff on LT1's and HE is VERY knowledgable. He doesn't hate the HOT cam just everything has its place depending on your goals. Someone here has a sig Cheap,Reliable,Fast... Pick 2. Learn it....... A Hot cam is a good(cheap) reliable contender but there are better cams.

There is better anything out there, it's all what you want. I got a Hotcam cause I wanted the lope of a Cam, and it's a reasonably priced kit. That and it's turning down times that is pretty impressive for what it is, so I am not complaining.

Yes I will admit his caprice is very fast. And he has probably forgot more than I know. But he has never said anything good about the hot cam from what I have read. Its like most performance parts, some love certain things some hate certain things. To each his own.Just read what the lovers say and look at the numbers they are laying down.Cheap or not, its still put down some great power.
