Never went past 130-ish yet. I have 96 SS, t-tops, M6, stock gears (should be 3.42?) and stock steel DS. Windows and tops were fine but, the vibrations were scary. Not sure if it was a bad alignment, tires unbalanced, Drive shaft, U-joints or a little of everything. I was expecting to see a wheel shoot off the car or something. I will probably attempt a 100+ again sometime after I get new tires, Alum DS w/ new U-joints, and 3.73's.

Does everybodys' F-bodies get the psycho vibrations over 120? I mean, I've been in an SRT-10, and a GTO over a 100MPH and it was like riding on a cushon of air compared to mine.

if the car came with Z rated tires from the factory the computer is set to something like 190MPH, if it didnt have teh Z rated tires there limited to 115 MPH, nothing a chip cant take care of.

Don't know if the primary cause is the driveshaft, but I would think thats probably the main cause of the vibrations. I never really got over 115 before getting the aluminum DS.

That's the Drive Shaft..get an Aluminum one, and you will see a world of difference. I mentioned it in one of my other posts..I also have a balanced Engine with my setup, and that thing will hit 130's/140's like it's nothing. Anyone have a problem with it not wanting to shift into 4th at some of them high speeds, mine used to do it, and we tuned it to shift itself at 118mph, and it stays in 4th.
I don't know how you T-Top guys would trust your cars at them speeds, it gets wierd with them at over 130MPH. My hardtop does the same thing with the Windows though, they start to suck out at about 140. I crack them bout a 1/4 inch, and they don't have a problem. I am a little lower also with a Spring Kit, so that helps nicely for top speed runs.

thats wierd ive never noticed any ttop problems. car was just as steady at 140, I only stoped at 145 cause I didnt like the amount of lift i was getting. Ive never had my windows suck out either, sounds kinda odd. but after 120ish if you have your windows open or T's off you def want to make sure your floor mats are secured

Drop the suspension, then it starts handling real good at high speeds.

I went 150+ stock with 2.73 a4, and did the same with 3.73, speed-0 just pegged out.

i got mine up to 155+ with stock gears (3.42s) in my 1LE 6 speed... it seemed like she had more left in her and with the speedo buried i would have needed a cop to tell me how fast i was actually going.....

fortunately there were none around. i think you could get a bone stock 6 speed 1LE car up to about 160 before it quits...

Thats my issue, I don't feel like doing RPM speed calculations, I'm just going to wait til I have a GPS in the car or something, til then when I hit 150mph I quit within a few seconds. I've decided I won't go faster til I can get the number......
