Just wondering what mods you guys recommend to go 12's

im in the process of trying to hit 12's on boltons and leaving the engine be for now.

my plans are: pacesetter mids or LTs, GMMG catback, cutout, LS1 air lid conversion(4" cowl hood included), moser 12 bolt, DRs, then what i have in my sig already done.

You could always do the LS1 mod





(swap in an LS1)

yea, all i want is 12's out of the car. once i hit a solid 12.5 then ill be done with modding this car. by then ill have another car to ***** out with parts.

With Heads, cam, exhaust, TB, injectors, stall and sticky tires; you have no problem being in the mid to high 12's.

I believe you can hit 12's with bolt ons + stall + gears. I'm going to prove that this March.

I would say whats your budget. I am going for 11s and I already have about 2k going into the 355 short block alone still using stock crank then about another 2k for heads and cam.. I would say get the LE1 package it is a very reasonable price and you should hit 12s NP. with supporting mods.

Exactly. Hell, I went 13.3's with just bolt-ons (CAI, MSD and Air Foil), no cat, 3.73's, and a tune. With a stall, 12's would have been easy.

my parents are really cool and they know im responsible. they are willing to give me an early birthday present. some guys here have told me some head and cam combos that will get me 11's with just a 100 shot of nitrous. one member on here onephatz28 told me about a shop that i will call, im just skeptical because there head cam combos are a secret, if he wont tell me, then the guys in the 11 second section will. i want to know what works.

Well I am building a forged 355 and using Advanced induction 200cc heads with there custom cam. along with dyno tuning rear gears, stall and and other supporting mods I have no doubts to hit mid 11s. you could get LE set-up (lloyd elliot) like say LE2 and make 360+rwhp with supporting mods and stock block.
Nitrous is fun but I would rather have the power I want without the button first then when i run out of build options I can always go NO2. OH go to

camaro>mustangs you have alot to learn about cars, and making them faster. You cant do just 1 thing to a car and expect it to go 11's in the quarter. Once you start making more horsepower you have to think about replacing other parts as well ( trans. rear end). And please PLEASE fix your signature, it says you have 2.76 gears, and its really bothering me.

Exactly..Look at my sig and see if you see heads and cam. Not gonna find 'em. Guess what? It runs 12s...And it's N/A, full weight, plus a cage with just bolt-ons and no PCM tune. I've added more bolt ons and plan to dip into the mid 12s and then weight reduction and a tune should net me somewhere in the low,low 12s or possibly high 11s...The record is 11.80 for the bolt on LT1, so why does everyone think you need heads/cam and 100 shot just to get 11s? Where's the LT1 love?

yes i do have alot to learn. thank you to everyone who has helped me. i know now that i need heads cam headers and nitrous to run 11's without a problem. i know i need to change my gears.

Brian, you never told me you were going to mod your car. David told me you were posting on here. Dont waste your time putting nitrous on it. Yur parents will buy you whatever you want. Nitrous is for guys who cant afford to go fast and you have the money. Get a procharger like what I got, they make them for LT1 cars and have install shops down here. Dont waste your time driving to the 909 to get work done at some no name shop. Call me bro.

If you're going forced induction a D1 is the way to go, but expect a rebuild in the near future.
A head and cam combo with exhaust and intake should easily get you to your goals, you can go bigger than the hot cam kit and still pass smog.

The comment about your gears....2.76 was not an option. You either have 2.73s 3.23s or 3.42s stock.
