My old 385 LT1

Stock un-ported LT4 intake
AFR 195 Heads (race ready version) Flow 260 cfm
Comp 503 cam w/1.6 rockers
Mid-lenth 1-3/4 headers with full exhaust.
MTI mail order tune

370/370 Rear wheel horse and torque through an automatic.

New motor is done; it makes the old motor look stock.

Well not a 383 but close enough....
On a 383 I would think this combo would make more hp (due to less friction?)...

My old combo
401...LE ported AFR 210's, Custom HYD Cam 23x/23x 11x lsa, E-pump, 58mm T-body, Speed Secrets Custom Raised/Welded Lt4 intake, 12.5 to 1 compression, Hooker Long Tube Headers, E-cutout, Strange 12 bolt 3.73 gear and 4L60E with PI3200 converter.

460HP/420TQ SAE with locked converter.
Through a manual with stock rear, 485ish SAE would be about what your looking at....manual numbers to 500ish with a good Mechanical roller setup....

Hope this helps a little....

383, barely touched edelbrock lt1's, only flowed 234 maxed out at.550" lift, very little seat pressure(valve float), below 9to1 compression with heads, cc306 cam with only 1.5's, mix and match, very poorly selected parts, put about 350hp/345tq to the tires on a mustang dyno(probably 360/355 on dynojet)

Here we go with the excuses again. . . If you don't think your numbers are valid, then don't post them.

i get tired of hearing kids at school talk about horsepower numbers. to me, they dont mean a whole lot. they are good for testing different setups and tuning. when a company says something will make so much power, is that at the flywheel or rear wheels? there are a bunch of factors that go into this. and kids dont understand that torque and its location in the rpms make a difference too. if you cant stay where the horsepower is at, then your not making/using the horsepower. one advantage to an m6 is that you can stay in higher rpms more. anyway, im just saying to me, horsepower doesnt mean a heck of a lot.
