Default Reaching 1000 mile break in

i'm reaching the 1000 mile marker in my rebuilt 355. it's just a stock rebuilt one. i changed the oil at 500 miles(10W-30). what is the best oill to use a synthetic 5W-30 or just conventional 5W-30? or should i stick with the 10W30? need help.

On my stock rebuilt lt1 I was told to switch to synthetic at 10k but after talking to a different shop (Gforce they are a sponser ->) who has been doing most of my recent work, they said just stick with conventional. It's what they run in all of their much faster lt1's than mine so I figured it will be plenty fine for me. No leaks, no problems or anything so far with 11k on the engine, hopefully it stays like this.

It's up to your personal preference on using 5w30 or 10w30, depending on location some people run a thinner oil in the winter and thicker in the summer. I run 10w30 year around here in Texas and it's fine.

King - It gets pretty cold up there so I'd probably use 5 in the winter and 10 in the summer. All I've run so far on my engine is Castrol GTX and probably won't switch to synthetic.

Changing the oil every 1k up until 5k is unnecessary for a stock rebuilt engine, after changing it at 500 and 1000 just change it every 3k for the life of the engine.
