Default Strange ticking sound

I recently noticed a ticking sound that occurs when i accelerate. The ticking gets faster the harder i step on the gas but if i let off the gas it goes away. The car runs fine, no different than usual. Just the ticking. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Just a guess but possibly your lifters need some measuring and adjusting, or they might need to be replaced.

Thats my guess, but then it could be knocking which is a bad thing as well. Without actually hearing it I just have to guess.

When your at idle does it sound like several little clicking sounds or is it one click.

Again its hard to guess without actually hearing it but either way its something that you should get looked at!!

Sounds like an exhaust leak or a loose spark plug.

Another vote for exhaust leak. pull a couple spark plugs to see if its running rich(a leak before the o2 sensors will cause the motor to run rich, after the o2s won't mess with the a/f ratio)

I fourth on the Exhaust leak. Might be able to spot it at night...stick your head under the hood and look around while reving motor - you may be able to see flamage out of the leaky spot. You have headers?

Check your throttle linkage...I had the same problem happen to me. LOL it ended up being my throttle linkage ticking against the back of my engine bay. I figured it out by accident. I pulled the gaskets to check it all out, and when I was putting the driver side one back on I hit the throttle cable and it ticked against the medal, lol boy was I mad as ****.
