insurance is good assurance.
spend the money to make it as reliable as possible when you weigh the odds 600.00 to splay may just save a 650.00+crank 450.00+rods 600.00+pistons and 1500-2000.00heads.
remember this when we get down on the throttle parts do shift,flex etc.that starts killing bearings and other parts fatique...spend the cash once..

if you build a motor period i believe splayed mains are only intelligent. Makes no sence to go through ALLL that work not to do that one simple thing... and consider the fact they hold it allll together...
