I agree... you wont see any real difference. sending the pcm out is a gamble, the only real purpose of sending it out would be to get the top speed limiter off, gear change speedometer change and shift points. and if you have a hypertech then you already ahve that. most people have to get it done 2 or 3 times when they do engine upgrades. or you can get the expensive LT1 edit and take it to a dyno by far the better choice. I would say until you put a cam in its better to keep it the way it is.

I live just down the road from Alvin and I plan on having mine tuned this summer by him. I am hoping for some good results.

Dont get edit.. overpriced ****... Just get tunercats... cost you something like $200 with the tuner, definition files, and the cables.

264 rwhp? Isn't that sort of low for an LT1 with bolt-ons?

A mail order tune is worth it. I hand tuned mine and learned at the same time, first time tuning any EFI vehicle, spent ~3 weeks on it with great results. The guy at pcm4less has been doing it a while now and I'm sure his results are much better than mine.

well when i got her dynoed in october she ran 268 RWHP and 303 RWTQ, after installing the exhuast cut out and the MOROSO CAI it went to 264 RWHP and 335 RWTQ. that was only two runs so maybe if i got more runs in i could get a better baseline.

If you got full bolts ons, Longtube headers, a highflow cat and lower stat, I think it worth getting it mail order tuned.
I have heard 8-12hp gains with a PCMforless or Madtuner tune.
If you have mids, I wouldnt worry about it.

I have a pcmforless tune in my car right now. In my opinion not worth it. Mine just shifts harder lol.

bryan is worth every penny. you will love his tunes and they are dead on! i gained only 5 rwhp from his mail order and his dyno tunes. he had my a/f ratio dead on with the heads/cam setup

I have it in my Caprice and it was a HELL of a difference! But it was also a grandma car before the LT4. The oe program was pathetic.
