Hey,
I just installed a csr electric waterpump and now i had to disconnect the long black tube that comes out the bottom of the elbow. Do i need this? what about the open hole now? suggestions...

It isn't a must have type part. I believe most people remove them as I plan on doing.

You can use a pert plug bottle top and other home things to plug it.

Or you can go this route:

Or you can get a 1LE intake elbow, I'd make sure I'd have a leak proof seal.

It's called the "Donkey Dong" It's just a silencer. It's not important at all.

I used the bottom of a V05 shampoo bottle and a hose clamp. I have Speed Density, so a small air leak isn't any big deal to me, but if you run MAF, then as said you'll want an air tight seal. There's so many things you could do though. Carve a piece of wood to fit in there, silicone around some other item with a hose clamp, industrial staple the bottom of a V05 bottle + silicone. Just get imaginative You could always go over it to, instead of inside.

yea its useless. when i was building my falcon, i planned on having to buy a new elbow and then pluging the hole off with a wood plug, but when i was looking for prices on them, i found a new regular z28 elbow was about 150$ and a "1LE" elbow was only 50. i did some research on a 1LE , since i had never heard of a 1LE camaro, and found that the only difference was that the 1LE elbow didnt have that hole in the botttom. so it was a no brainer there, save a hundred bucks and eliminate the hole. i had to cut the excess rubber off of it tho, no biggie

No, but it IS a contradiction

I got my Vortec alu one for like $70, but that was years ago. Don't know the price now. No name, no fancy look to it. Works nice. For my 93, the air temp sensor isn't compat. They screw in on the alu elbow and mine was push in to the factory. So I had to modify it to fit, since I couldn't find one that worked :\

I peiced together this system for around 70 dollars including the k&N air filter and elbow and boy,...what a difference. You can hear it pull air and whistle at high rpm rates.
