Saved 3.83 on the left side. Not really dangerous, the only thing you don't want to do is run these brakes on the street on a daily basis.

you can get a ton of weight out of the inside of the dash as well. That passanger airbag is heavy and all the duct work and junk in there is heavy too.I also took out the heater core and hoses as well as the heaterbox is heavy too.I have to attack my doors in the spring also lots of extra steel I can cut out of there also.my goal is 3000 lbs and 3200 with me in it for the spring. Its like free rwhp

LOL....I bought this thing new and I feel like my wife is getting raped when I pull these parts out. As each year goes by I tear into it more...maybe in a couple I'll go at it like you.

After looking at those pics, I can totally see why you can lose so much weight with those Strange brakes. Is there such a thing as aftermarket spindles? If not, couldn't someone fab up some lightweight ones?

I was at the shop yesterday looking at the spindles on the LS F-body cars..those are the ones us LT guys need! They have two little tabs that hold the caliper on. They have very little cutting to do to put the Strange brakes on.

What is really amazing about looking at these pic's of your '95 Formula is that the engine has never been out of the car, never rebuilt, nothing! It practically looks new! Bob

I talked to tech rep from Weld Racing, the Magnum PRO 1 piece 3.5" wheel only weighs 7.5 lbs. Combined with MT ET fronts you get a total tire/wheel weight of 20.5 lbs. My current 5.5" Weld XPs with MT Sportsman front runners weigh 32.6 lbs. I will save approximately 24 lbs. just in front wheels/tires. Guess what, my XPs from the front are now for sale!

Since this car was deadly consistent, running 11.31/11.32, it will be interesting to see what the weight reductions yields in et. Bob

Default update with rear race brakes

Replaced BMR K-member with one for manual rack= +1.72 lbs.
ATI Balancer vs stock= +1.8 lbs.

Power steering system w/fluid= 32.3 lbs.
New flaming river manual rack set up= 15.73 lbs.

Cruise control= -3.01 lbs.
Brake booster= -9.73 lbs.
Replaced single adjustable QA1 struts with double adjustable QA1= +.29 lbs.
Replaced 315 lb. QA1 springs with 300 lb. QA1 springs= +3.76 lbs.
Strange front brakes= -40.9 lbs.
Cut LH spindle= -3.83 lbs.
Cut RH spindle= -3.69 lbs.
Strange master cylinder vs stock= +1.97 lbs.
Old rear brakes= 23.10 lbs. each
Wilwood race brakes= 11.37 lbs. each
Total savings in rear brakes= -23.46 lbs.

Total reduction so far= -168.01

Just a side note, I saved 5.00 lbs. on each rear rotor alone. That is alot of rotating mass! I am also going to delete all the emergency brake equipment and I am sure the aluminum spool is going to save alot. This reduction total also doesn't include the front wheels and tires I will be getting, another -24 or so. I ordered some aluminum intercooler tubing to replace some of ATI's steel, that will be weighed when done.

Nice work measuring everything. I'm doing some of the same stuff now. I just hate the fact that I had to add the cage. I don't want to know how much weight I just added.

I like them however I have only used them on so I have nothing else to compare them to.The car is loud considering I have mufflers but it sounds good and it seems to make decent power. When I shift 3rd it feels like a launch

If you get some engine bay pics post them up! I would like to see them.

I sent the spindles to Jet Hot for coating, I'll get some pics of the finished front brake set up when done. With some new upper a-arms from BMR, this front end will look new again.

I had to order a different hat for the rear Wilwood brakes, the 12 bolt kit from Moser had a 2.81 offset and these f-bodys have a 2.66. I'll also get pics of these when done.

She is coming together and the engine should be running again this weekend. I would like to thank Josh at Procharger for sending some new tubing for my intercooler set up, changing things around to ATI's new piping.

Ultimate goal is in the 10s with this set up. I'll be happy to pull the engine to go faster then.
