Thanks, if we can get it in the 10s without having to pull the intake...we may just throw a cam and heads on it to see what it will do with stock bottom end.

I'll be doing some of the interior....steering wheel, seats, etc. I still want to be able to drive to town and back so the heat and stereo will stay in. I'll keep you posted on the rest we pull out.

I wish I knew what mine weighed to start with. I'm trying to do the same thing now, but I'm not going as extreme.

So far all I've got weighed is the front bumper support. The whole metal and foam thing on my 93 Z28 weighed 25.6lbs. I'm guessing the one on birds is smaller? Do you happen to have a picture of it?

I still need to do this. My vert is down to 3290 but still has a long way to go.

Thumbs up Pics of new intercooler piping

Re-routed the piping to how ATI does it now, changed from having two coming up from bottom to a single. Makes for a much cleaner install.

Thumbs up Pics of relocated alternator

Started with SJM's relocation bracket then made all the spacers in aluminum. Replaced all the hardware with stainless, I would say it looks pretty good! Sorry about the rusty header bolts, they need to go stainless as well!!

I got some more out of my 93 Z28:

Front Bumper Support = 25.375 lbs
Fog lights and brackets = 4.0625 lbs
Cruise control, cable, and throttle cable cover = 4.4375 lbs
Air pump and brass fittings = 5.9375 lbs
Stock horns = 1.875 lbs
Stock Y pipe and single cat = 21.1875 lbs

My bumper support definetly looks a lot different. Instead of having the foam it has this honey comb type stuff:

No, I wish I could have. The way I got it though it was taken apart. Granted I'm pretty sure all the parts were in the car, but in boxes. There were also some redundant parts like one stock exhaust manifold was still on, but then the replacement header was in a box in the car. I'm just going to try to keep super accurate records of what I've taken out and get it weighed afterwards.

Thanks and no I haven't heard of a set up like that. Interesting thought though. Only problem is you would have to be moving to make it work. They need to come up with a light weight starter-alt combo!

Default Some front brake pics

Got the new brakes installed. Don't have the springs installed yet as I am setting up travel limiters. The spindles look good in Jet Hot sterling. Thanks to Lee at BMR for setting me up with new upper A-arms. BMR has made some changes from their first production runs like I had before and they also now have zurk fittings. The brakes line are not run yet but I did pick up a kit from RJ Race Cars to plumb the whole car in stainless with all the fittings for $200.

Looks good!

Keep all the parts in case you change your mind down the road. I got old and put back everything this year. Heater, wipers+motor, washer thing, bumpers, etc. etc. and it was annoying that I lost one or two under the dash things. Like the heater core cover. I eventually found everything that was missing on the internet but it would have been nicer if I didn't move two times and lose them. I'm still hunting for PERFECT salad shooters.

Nice engine bay. My car has 5,000mi on it too and it's looking pretty clean. Those miles are mostly driving to Memphis and back for the old event. I'll post some pics when I can.

Good luck remember to keep everything!

The eventual goal is in the 8's so I am not too worried about stock anymore, just want to keep the basics like heat and radio. I have the original tires/wheel combo if you are interested. They are the silver non-chromed wheels though.

You have the polar opposite desire for creature comforts I do. I just want power steering and ac. Can you take out the heat without removing the ac?
