LOL...it could be our location. You could pull the heater core and the hoses in the engine bay but it probably won't gain you much. With the skinnies up front, it's like I having power steering.

Agreed. I've used my heater once in my camaro and never in my formula. It's some free weight to take out.

I also weighed what I hacked off of the frame rails today = 5.125 lbs:

The brakes line are not run yet but I did pick up a kit from RJ Race Cars to plumb the whole car in stainless with all the fittings for $200.

The rear brakes are on. The original offset was not right and Mark at Wilwood was great on doing a couple of swaps to get the offset dead on. Wilwood does not carry a dynalite drag rear race kit for these F-bodys but we now have the part numbers to make it a bolt on- I didn't even need to space the calipers.

Here are the numbers:
Brake kit 140-0263 for 12 bolt chevy with stock c-clip
Hat kit 170-0357 for old style mopar/dana
When you order rear brakes you can have them swap the hats out when you order.

The front end is back on, had to move the supercharger pipes a little to clear the front turn signal but it now all fits. Getting closer!! The front seems really sturdy without the foam support, we'll see at 120 mph. Just pulled the rear brakes back off to put a spool in it, curious to see what I loose from that! Also, removing the emergency brake cables...I'll weigh them also.

Enjoy the pics,
Jon

Thanks. I'm anxious to see what kind of power this Procharged stock engine will make now! Did you get my PM? I would like a sticker so when the front is in the air it will give people something to read.

Car is looking good. Too bad I don't still live in Fort Wayne, we could sit our cars right next to each other at Hall's on Coliseum Blvd this summer. Two mint silver bird's, how nice would that be....

No doubt, and LT1's too.

Yours is the only other Silver LT1 bird I have seen that gives me a run for my money when it comes to being so clean you could eat off the car.

I'm looking forward to the results on rwhp / rwtq from a stock internal LT1. Keep us posted. Once again, you have a sick LT car

Where do you live now? When did you move away from the Fort? I grew up there, moved to KC in 2004.

I've been gone for about 8 yrs (4 yrs in oklahoma and the last 4 yrs in Frisco, Tejas ). I see you love in KC, I thought there was a guy that lives in KC with a fast turbo LT1 car (Real Quicks turbo setup) ? I visit Fort Wayne once or twice a year (usually in the summer time) so me and my cousin can see who has the fastest car or bike each year. My cousin has a silver C5 with a 383 / maggie (polished) with a mini-tub running custom built 3 piece 18x12.5" rears (pretty sick car).

Damn yours looks good! Glad to see another nice LT running around out there.

Scott Parker from GMHT was at the shop and swung by the house to take a look at the Formula, hopefully with some good track times we can get her in the magazine. Gives me a little more motivation after a long winter of working on it. Scott owns an LT himself that is a project car for the magazine.

That would be great if you received a 1 or 2 page spread on your LT1 car ! Good luck on the numbers.

PS: Did you buy your car new from Don Ayres PONTIAC on highway 3 ? I remember buying a white GTA back in the day from their lot.

Yeah, that's a guy that goes by the name Skinnies on here. I usually get back during the holidays to the Fort, but I will be going back a couple times this summer.

Hmm... The e brake. I didn't think about that. You don't need one of those with an automatic car. Mines coming out then.

We have considered it but I am running a little behind from where I thought it would be at this time. Still need a roll bar and I don't want to be thrown out for running 11.0s. I have a mild steel bar here we could weld in, it would have to be torn back out to go moly.....

If you need it to stop at the end of a run it just wasn't meant to be anyway.
