^except a Veyron ok i was just trying to lighten the mood I love all cars but i attached to Camaros/Firebirds young in life and when i found my LT1 i LOVED it. had a woody the whole way home still do with the magnaflow on there as said before i keep getting ragged on about it being an LT1 but i love my car, it's paid off and now it's engine Mod time. low compression 383 with a S/C on it oh yeah baby...

P.S. i don't really know any guys on here that well but i get alot of help from the LT1 guys here and Merv is one of them that's posted to help me out and i appreciate it a ton. As i do from all the guys with lot's of knowledge on these cars as i LOVE to learn new stuff.~Cole~

There is alot of jealousy in this thread!

AHAHAH

LS1 is a better design. Give it up.

That doesn't take anything away from the LT1 though. The original SBC and Gen II SBC are proven performers and still are.

Hell the SBC has been around for 50 years and still kicking ***.

I like to ask for dyno sheets... this weeds out 80% of them off the top.
Then most of them start makin excuses... And I just ask them to nicely be quiet and let their car talk for them. Usually they then ask what I have, and I tell them an old LT1 that is PAID for. They laugh, and I start it up. Its amazing the respect those open headers comand with the electric cutout open.
I would say this weeds out all but 2 percent. The last two percent end up getting spanked, except for one. That was a supercharged mustang, and he got me cuz I gave her too much gas and broke the crappy street tires loose. Oh well, it made him feel good. But, I realize that I am no where near the fasted car on the street... but its fun to race fast cars. I really dont care if I win or loose, its just so much fun putting up my 13,000 dollar total invested car up against the 75,000 vettes.

That's some fat tires on that thing up there....

That is one of the best things to think about..Mine is paid off, I'll have $15k totally invested into my car, and it will be hopefully in the 10's, if not then low 11's..and still $50/month for Insurance

It helps when you do your own work, cause that would be easily $3k in just labor for the LSX Swap..

I like to remind the LS1 croud they have that small 3.9" bore and of course am building an LT1 that will hold it's own and beat the average modded LS motor.

Like it was stated some are cool but then you get the others. All the haters makes me think they owned a Mustang in a previous life

That is why I went with the 6.0l, it is a 4.000" Bore. That and a 4.000" Stroke Crank through some LT's should have a nice deep rip..

Yea, Bene up there is cool as hell, one of the guys I know here. There is a bunch here that are cool. Occasionally you do get the ******** that wants to be a turd. I like to talk about my stuff cause I am always messing with something on it, there is always something to mod.
I got a friend who has a Honda, he is always talking **** about something.. I got him good though, he shut up when he saw 1 of my 4" Pistons.. I told him there were 7 more that big, he had nothing to say. Then the next day he was back with something.. Got to love them Import guys

I just tell them that the avg power gain for a TBody on a LT1 is about 8hp, for $300. Where as on an import, for $300 it's a whopping 3hp.

I can see it helping for FI, but regular NA it's not going to do a whole lot..
