I did have a great nail biter between me and a new C6 Vette though. Neck and neck right as we crossed the finish line. That'll get the heart pumping

Your new setup looks pretty sweet and should take care of stock C6 Z06's. Funny thing is that was my same goal with my new setup. Take out any Z06 I line up with. And hopefully most of the Mustangs too

lol Those LT1s are almost a disgrace! I'm not saying mine could run any faster, but I also don't take mine to the track And if I did, it'd be a solo run purely to settle curiosity. But, seeing as LT1s run fairly low 14s stock (even high 13s on a good day with a good driver), I wouldn't put it passed mine to run 13s after I got my tune in. My car was a sleeping bear before that!

It's not just the LT1's though. Most of the people that race TNT and in the street car class out here are young and are stock or real close to it. That goes for the LS1's too. Most of the LS1's I line up with are in the 13's and get beat pretty bad by me. In fact, I have a hard time getting any good races.

I'll sit and watch all the cars go just to see who else in the 12's and then try to get next to them. That's how I got the C6 race. I had a great race against an STI too that was a mid 12 car. I can't wait for next season so I can move over to where the big dogs run. Then every race should be a good one

That is one of the best things to think about..Mine is paid off, I'll have $15k totally invested into my car, and it will be hopefully in the 10's, if not then low 11's..and still $50/month for Insurance

It helps when you do your own work, cause that would be easily $3k in just labor for the LSX Swap..

I got a freind of mine that comes over, he has a BAD *** 99 convertable SS, 5xxRWHP on motor...he just sits and gazes at the rear of my car with those big tires and the mini-tub...he loves it

No, I run at New York International Raceway Park. It's about thirty minutes from my house and it's never too crowded. I guess that's good and bad. It's good that I can get a ton of runs in for my money but bad because it limits the competition.

I see a low 11 second LS1 once and awhile and MOM's events bring out a lot of fast Mustangs. But it seems like almost everyone who races there is either really fast or really slow. Not a lot of mid 11 to mid 12 inbetweens like me.

Well with the times and mods in your sig, just be thankful you have not lined up with mine.

I think here in Utah we are 50/50. Half of them are cocky and the other half know who to pop off too and who to keep quite around. We have several 11second LT1's out here. More 11Sec LS1's and one 9 second. We are all in the same boat, we all like to build our cars and have fun and we all like killing the rice

Two things.

1). Why is that? You have no mods or times in your sig and your title is 12 second club. I like to run people in the 12's as it presents a good race whether I win or lose.

2). I have a little something up my sleeve for the very near future.

Thanks. I'm waiting on the cam and LS7 intake to complete the motor. Then comes the rest of the fun. Nitrous, 4L80E conversion and of course all the safety equipment needed to run 9's including a 10 point cage

I ran in the 12s with my old hot cammed 2.59 geared, untuned 92 Vette. Never updated my title. Z28 has ALOT more in it than the vette.

Just thought your post was arrogant and quite IGNORANT like ALOT of LS1 owners hence the reason for this thread.

That's cool. Just wondering what you are running now.

Arrogant? Granted there is a fine line between confidence and arrogance at times but that was not the case here. I simply stated a fact. I never said I could beat all LT1's but I have been very successful with the limited LT1's I have raced. I have never lost to a LT1 yet but then again I have never raced one with more then just bolt-ons. Luck of the draw you might say.

Ignorance? Show me one thing I posted in this thread that is untrue. Everything I typed was 100% accurate or simply an opinion. Either way it shows no ignorance on my part.

The reason for this thread was to bash LS1's and the people that own them. But this is "ls1tech" after all so some negative reactions to such a thread were to be expected.

ETP. Those are the ET Performance LS7 heads designed for the 4.0 bore. Expensive heads but when matched with a LS7 intake and 90MM TB it should out flow any other head/intake combo for the 416 L92 shortblock. I'm looking for mid 10's NA and mid 9's on spray. Should be enough to handle any C6 Z06 I could run into at the track. At least until someone brings a heavily modified one
