Is the 6.6 block the same as the one you got, just punched more from the factory? 402 is 6.5 isn't it? I mean technically?

I can't view the link because you need to be registered and logged in. But I'll take your word for it. I'm sure that there are plenty of tracks (atco for example) that has more fast street cars then NYIRP. And that's totally cool. But I don't live near them so it's kind of a moot point.

Now that's not to say there are not a lot of fast street cars in western NY. I have a friend who is always telling me about the Sunday night street racing scene and how big it is. I guess a lot of these guys stay on the streets because they don't want to put roll bars and or cages in thier cars.

It's all good though. I will soon have all the competition I can handle and then some. I fully expect to lose at least half the races I line up against if not more. And that's ok with me

According to the website link in your profile you're in Monroe, Washington. According to mapquest that's 2,700 miles and 40 driving hours away. But isn't that always the case on the internet? Someone across the country calls you out.

Yeah, ok. I'll BRT.

Lol. According to your webpage your car runs 11.47 @ 118 on motor with N20 times coming. According to your username you're in the 10 second club. Which brings me to the obvious conclusion that you now runs tens (presumably on N20). Very nice BTW!

The way I see it I have three choices. One, I could drive 2,700 miles with my car as it sits and lose a race barring mechanical or driver error. Two, I could wait a few months until the 416 and N20 goes in my car. Then I could drive 2,700 miles and win a race barring mechanical or driver error. Or three, I could not waste my time driving 2,700 miles and just be content racing the cars I can get lined up with here in NY.

I'm going with option three

For me....it's easy. I don't care what anyone ever thinks of MY car. It's MY car, and I bought it so I could enjoy it. If someone else has a problem with MY car...that's their problem, not mine.

Never know when some one will call you out after a statemnt like you made do you

As far as breakage? try a bracket day with six passes from 10.32-10.36..three of them being 10.32s then two more the next day at 10.32 and 10.34

Heck you never know what comes around the corner at you.

Good luck getting the new engine combo going!

But it wasn't a real call out given the distance between us

I don't care if an LT1 (or any other car for that matter) beats me. I enjoy close races win or lose so I say bring em. But so far my only close races have been against STI's, Corvettes and a few Mustangs.

That's impressive. But I only mentioned mechanical error because cars are machines. A transmission or whatever can go out at any time. I myself am extremly consistent right now and hopefully will stay that way. But that's the beauty of having stalled autos but you all ready know that

That's 100% true. Someone new might show up this Friday night with a low 11 second LT1 and wax me. You never know. And if that happens I'll give him props, ask about his mods and move to 6 and 1 vs LT1's. I'm all good with that.

If not then I'll remain 6 and 0 and I'm good with that too

Thanks! I am very excited about it. Mike @ New Era Performance is doing all the work and tuning. We are very confident that she should see 500-530 rwhp on motor. Maybe even a tad more. I'm still deciding on how much N20 to use but I was thinking of single stage 200 wet. I can always change it out later if I'm not happy with the results. Plus this car will still be driven to and from the track.

Good luck with your car as well. Any plans for breaking into the 9's? You're so close it would almost be a shame not to have at least one 9.x slip.

I don't have too much of a problem. Probably because my LTX car is "known" around town.

Some people its just who the are. They can't let their Ego go, no matter what. It wouldn't matter if they drove a LS1 or a 68 Whatever with a big block. It would ALWAYS be something, even when they lose. They have to find some way to counter the bad that just happened to them. So in your case, they lost but they have the superior LS1 compared to your LT1. You could have an LT5 and they'd still talk smack.

Granted it is a better designed Engine, hence why I am dropping it into my Car, but the best looking present Camaro is the Early Gen 4 IMO..so I might as well have something that looks good and with a nasty little setup..
They way I figure..if I can build the Harness and get it mounted in the Car, I allowed to have what I want..
I am not going to go hatin on LT1 Cars cause of what I have..that and the 3 that are around here already got destroyed by my Hotcam setup..
I'll go play with the Heads/Cam LS1 guys to mess with their heads..

It also is in the driver, a guy that can drive can take an lt1 and smash a ls1 with no problem, a buddy smashed an ls1 vett and pissed a ls1 camaro on a 75 shot, all in his 97 vert TA

I just bought my LT1 and I LOVE it. I want to mod the hell out of it, but I think any 350 on the market can have massive HP gains and do whatever you put into it. I know of people with well over 600HP in a 5.7 that would eat the **** out of any LS1 so it is all what you put into it.

Well making tons of power on a standard Gen I 350 is much easier than on an LT1. Sooo many head and cam combinations, not to mention carb and stand alone EFI.

Don't say any. I would like to see a 600HP LT1 try to eat anything other then the exhaust of this LS1:

http://www.w2wpowertrain.com/t-Casper-2.aspx

1700 HP of LS1 Muscle baby!

Of course that's the extreme case scenario. But there are plenty of LSX vehicles with power adders hitting 700-1000 rwhp. He who spends the most money usually wins whether it's LT1 or LS1.

True..I'm hoping for close to 500 at the wheels, basically that is 600+Engine, it's not that hard to do with some of the LSX combinations out there..

Unless I read it wrong..he said he ran that LS1 car in 1996? Or is that the Chassis..

You read it right but it was printed wrong. Mike Moran set a street car record in 1996 but not with a LS1 motor obviously. The LS1 F-body record was actually set on August 15, 2005 at Michigan 131 dragway. Mike Moran not only beat Ronnie Dukes record but shattered it with a 6.86 @ 205.

That is some serious power
