Yeah, even my wife notices a change in me over the winter months when I don't drive it too much, BUT when the Spring hits I'm a revitalized fool! There's nothing like dropping the hammer in these things...Its like therapy...I've taken the street car approach and am gradually slipping over to more race inspired stuff...Like the Richmond spool sitting in my living room...but I've had it with limited slips, its time to get serious...I still think I can eek out a wee bit more out of my combo...11 teens would be nice...

My old setup was also a daily driver.

383 built by ECS(mild cam, racetronix, 30# inj, forged internals, ported heads, 1.6 rr...), bilstein HD shocks, eibach springs, hotchkis lower control arms, sway bars, adj panhard rod, FLP headers, Flowmaster catback, full custom stereo (subs amps..etc) all factory options still intact (ac, power doors/mirror/windows)... I put about 8000mi on the car the year I got the 383 built, I had all the bolt-ons already prior to that. It was also my first time at the track that year too...best I was able to muster was a 13.5...lol. Definately NOT the fastest with my crappy driving, but it has potential with the more driving skill.

Alan..get a locker!! just kidding..the spool will be sweet. at least you have gotten to drop the hammer..im still waiting to on mine.
i hope i can do it side by side with you at capitol soon when the kinks are out.

these car are a blast when they run..not many 11-sec and 10sec street lt1 cars.

Yeah, you're right..Hope you get everything worked out soon...When I get back from OC I'll be doing the spool, 4.10s and switching to some 28" 275 60 R15 M/T radials...PAF is doing a side exit exhaust for me this Monday...Hope it works out well...

This is exactly what I'm talking about, if you have a "street" LT1 trapping anything over 123-125 mph in the 1/4...in my opinion you are doing it. I haven't done any research, but I'd say not much over 25% of the guys on this board are trapping over this, and like <1% of all cars on the street are trapping over that, so you would be a street beast. All this in your crappy ragged out redneck LT1...ain't that great! I think that's killer for all you guys out there who's got an LT1 running in the 11's and 10's who actually drive and enjoy your car, mad respect to you guys. I hope to be there with you soon. IMHO that is what its all about, to build it and actually enjoy it. I can't recall the number of times I have been out in my truck or wifes car (cause my car was in the shop etc) and had some guy rev or show off and been like "man I wish I was in my car", if I can get mine build and actually drive it, I wont have to wish. Just my $0.02

What about if you doing 140mph in the 1/4 in a TRUE "Street car" are you really doing it then, lol.

i drive mine every day, highway, city whereever. carry passengers. sit in traffic and go for cruises.

mod's in sig. but i have no times yet, tuesdays the day!

In an LT1, then yeah, IMO you are, so if your doing 140 congrats... LS1/LT1 that's an accomplishment
I'll be happy to do 125.. 140
Setup should be done at the end of summer hopefully, I have about 20,000+ sitting in my garage will take another 5-7 thousand to make me happy with it.
Quick review of the setup is VRE 383, AFR LT4 heads by LE with Edelbrock LT4 intake, Monoblade with a Nitro Daves custom monoblade plate setup, D1SC procharger (with all the Fixens, lol) with a FMIC, 4L80E tranny controlled with a TCI controller, 12-bolt,etc. TOO much to list, will Hundreds of pics when doing the swap . Plan to drive the car EVERYDAY and Run in the 9's at over 140mph without the nitrous . Hell to be completely hones I probably wont even spray it.

I just cut the roll bar out of mine.

We were driving it up to 500 miles a week(50+ mile comute) and it ran 10.0s at 136



BTW T/A I got four of those plates two Mono and two 58mm
