its a 94 lt1, any write ups? does it come out thru the engine bay or inside the car?

comes out through inside, but i loosened a lotta stuf and did it with my motor out. check lt1tech.com also try a search if you havent already

Supposed to come out through the inside... There's a writeup in here for 98+ cars, which is pretty much the same.

The BFH method works pretty well also...

you talking about the heater box????? if so have fun with it cuz it's a major PITA if you're not stripping everything out from behind the dash....

getting to the bolts is a pain but you gotta work on both sides of the firewall to get em...

I cut the front of it off and made a cover Panel, keeping the Heat.
I got rid if the little Vacumm Line goin in that is in the pic cause that whole thing stopped working. Heat works no problem.

so i can do it like that and all the motors will still work fine? for heat and defrost?

Motors will work no problem, vents will work as long as you keep that little Black Vacumm Line. Mine all stopped workin, so I got rid of it.

Yup. You will have to cut a little out on the inside, where that metal piece is. If you leave it, you will block the air blowing from the Blower Motor. I am working on closing up all the gaps in there. Someone did it here also, they fiber glassed it all in.

how do you unscrew the box assembly where the PCM is? or at all. on the firewall.

theres 10MM bolts that hold it fast to the firewall the bad part is some are on the inside and some are on the outside. if the engine is still in the car there hard to get to.

the ones on the side where the engine is i can get to, ive already tried.

the ones towards the PCM are on the inside?

IMO you might as well delete all the HVAC if your going to remove the box in the engine bay. To much damn work with the engine in the car to do it nice and clean.

I just got done fiberglassing my heater box yesterday, got some bondo on it right now drying, will post pics soon.

im just thinking of getting rid of the condensor, and the lines running to the firewall for the AC. make a little more room and let my lid breathe more.

That would be the only logical thing to do, remove the AC stuff itself but leave all of the box intact unless your doing the whole shabang of HVAC removal.
