Default Mr Spring meet Mr .704 Lift.....

Hehehehehehe this is what a Nextec spring looks like under .704 lift on the intake side on my AFR 227's......

looks frikking painful.... Engine builder says there's a lot of room before coil bind.... even though the springs coils look like they're humping each other....

Those are Nextec pacalloy triple valvespings.... They are an upgrade thru AFR. I believe they are the best ones AFR sells with their heads.... I can't remember the OD on them. But they're good to like .800 lift properly setup... Lance said they measured 275 lbs on the seat....

Oh and he finished my intake welding. He lopped the water neck off of my Victor E, welded up the holes, got rid of the lettering where it said "Edelbrock Victor E" and smoothed everything out and needled it to leave an as cast finish... finished it up yesterday so we're ready to bolt up the intake monday morning.... i'm stoked!

Yeah I can't believe it was ever there from what it looks like.... I did see it go thru the transformation so I know it was there at one point....

but you'd never know from lookin at it.... thanks again guys...

Oh and DH I found out a little more about the springs. They are Nextec springs manufactured by Manley. They are basically a high end version of spring using next generation metals where memory problems with previous springs materials are basically a non issue with these springs. There are a few pro stock engine builders using them. And a few that I know that are running near .900 lift with them without failure. They are an upgrade thru AFR that you can get on their heads.

There's some good reading on valvesprings if you do a search for "Nextec Springs" in google and go to some of the forums and research the threads there.....

Here's another one where you can kinda see the manton 3/8" pushrods and where we had the massive clearance issues with the head gasket (gasket holes needed to be clearanced since we're using offset intake lifters)

manifold goes on tommorrow and we'll start mocking up vacuum pump brackets, weld the valve covers for the AN fittings and do some finish work on the front with the accessories. I'll probably put the throttle body on it and the FPR and FPR bracket. We are nearing the finishline thank god... thanks for all the words guys, believe me i'm just as excited about seeing how it runs. From other motors I've seen come out of CSMRE I'm sure it'll be everything i expect it to be...
