yeah man, IMO shorties are a flop on GM motors... i use them as an absolute last resort if fitment is that big of an issue. it whacks out the torque curve big time. Long tubes arent that expensive and are pretty easy to come by...

Yeah what they said, dont go with shorties. Mids or longtubes, perferably longs though.

thanks for the compliment. i love the color cause i dont see many around. and the only reason i was going to do shorties is cause he said 80 bucks and they are mine. i havent really looked into long tubes but im sure i cant find any for cheap, cause im a broke college student.

I wouldn't even use free shorties. Save you're money or check the classifieds for used longtubes. You won't regret it.

Doing headers on these cars is NOT an easy job so you may as well do it once and do it right with longtubes. You will not have a noticeable gain with shorties. You will kick yourself later when the shorties don't impress you and you have to rip them out and re-install longtubes. It will be like doing the job 4 times!

im sort of in the same situation. i wanted a nice little boost and to change the exhaust a little, while trying to spend very little. but i decided the best route was to do it right, once, instead of 4 times (like those other guys said). I'm going with pacesetter lts (coated), pacesetter ory pipe, cat, muffler, and a cutout. its kinda pricey but it'll be fun

just go longtubes man, you're wasting your time with shorties
