No, 93-94 is spline driven and 95-97 is cam driven. You can convert but you need timing cover, timing chain, cam dowel pin, and newer opti. I think thats it but I could be wrong.

Yea i just posted it up there just fpr people to read. This is the one that I have in my car now and it works great. Many people wanted to make theirs into a vented system but didnt want to change everything that porksoda stated, or they were getting wrong info about just changing out the cap to make it a vented system.

You can get a MSD cap and rotor OR the MSD opti and it will convert it to vented.

but only buying the cap will not make it vented. The cap is sealed. You have to have the vent in the dist. as well for the air to flow through it to actually be vented.

My 94 has 165k on it. I have changed the opti once.
Never had an issue with my sealed opti and see no reason to go vented.

Your in for allot. I just did mine not to long ago for the first time. I am good with tools and such but there was some tricky stuff to remove. Basically everything in front of the motors needs to be removed except radiator. Change the water pump while your at it. Even change the timing cover gasket, thats one thing I should a done "D'oh!" There are some good write ups here just search them out.

yea i changed my opti out and put original everything back on. Then the timing cover started leaking. then the WP went out. so yea i would recommend changing them at the same time as well.
