I think the guy wants to work with what he's got. There isn't any reason that he can't get that kind of power out of the LT1. I think he should contact Lloyd and get his opinion on the build. Maybe the guy doesn't wan't a boat anchor in the front of his ride. If all that he wants is the power that he listed there isn't any reason for carrying around the extra 150-175 lbs when that kind of power is attainable from the LT1. Just my humble opinion.

If it where me...
LE2 heads & cam, forged internals/rotating assembly, Procharger, supporting mods.

buy a 502 crate motor, comes with almost everything except for accessory brackets. Thats 502 hp and 567 tq, and it would be bad ***. With that size engine you could make so much more hp with it too. I wish i through a big block in my camaro instead of built up the ole lt1
The old "THROW A 502 IN THAT BITCH AND BE DONE WITH IT" does not work if you only have 10K..... Doing a BBC the right way would get into the teens of thousands.....
And 550 RWHP i don't think can be done for 7K reliably..... for that amount of power you're gonna need a SP manifold, and SR cam..... compression, a good bottom end and fuel system..... you can make the 550 maybe but the surrounding equipment ain't gonna be darn happy about it for long.... 550 flywheel. Yeah it can be done for 7K.... 355 big hyd roller, 36 lb injectors, good stage II heads and some tuning and you'll be right around that #....
