largest STALL without tuning
if I'm not mistaken, they refer to it as "stall wall" or something like that.
seeing as the 4L60E doesn't have an input shaft speed sensor like the 4L80E does. exact slippage of the converter is calculated from a predetermined scale in the computer when engine RPM, a specific gear is selected, and the output shaft speed (VSS) are all calculated together.
I'm not really sure if this table can be adjusted ("tuned") or not. I've seen quite a few people have fits with their tranny's wanting to go in its "limp home" mode. like going from 1st gear to 3rd, skipping second all together, and then locking in 3rd till you shut off the car.
I've never messed with any of it before, but I *think* that's what he is asking about.
and to my knowledge, a 3000rpm stall wouldn't give you any problems with this.
I ran my 3400 stall for months without tuning it. Never had a problem, except that it was a bit loose.
