Default Compatibility Lt4 heads with lt1intake

Hi, i have Camaro 93 m6. I want to buy AFR 195 Lt4. Question: What modification intake it is necessary to do for installing LT4 heads?
Thanks.

the only modification necessary is an LT4 intake. the ports are .2 or .25" higher on the LT4 heads. Maybe if you wanted to do a lot of welding on an LT1 intake you could get it to work.

The original GM LT4 intake is discontinued now, Edelbrock make LT1 & LT4 intakes.

Or you can spend $400 bucks for a fully race ported LT4 intake (mine), I posted it here, few pages back. https://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt4-modifications/755721-who-needs-lt4-race-ported-intake.html

Yeah just buy Pepe's or buy an Edelbrock LT4. Too much work IMHO to make it right.

If you are going to AFR heads - talk to them about the intake runner opening dimensions. If yours will match PEPE's intake - I'd buy his - it's a deal.

here is a link to my thread with much details regarding the use and differences with pics:

I wish "search" would work in here

Well first if you did the research you would realize you should not want those heads.

Then the statement by 92lt1rs made about the ports is pretty far off the mark.

The STOCK LT4 ports are .1 TALLER with the same floor height, not raised. Raised would imply that the floor came up too and it did not.

The stock LT4 intake actually had the same ports as the LT1 intake in the same location they were just smaller than the ports in the heads and had more materil above the ports to seal to the TALLER ports in the heads.

Honestly though I STRONGLY encourage you to do some more research focusing on RESULTS, just be cause the internet masses say something is great does not mean it is the truth.

I have numerous times challenged folks to post RESULTS for the 195 and smaller AFRs and have yet to see anything better than disappointing, a guy here with an Impala actually went faster with ported Impala iron heads than he did with 195AFRs.

Keep in mind Dwayne the new Afr heads are now available. No one has any dyno or independent flow #'s, so I wouldn't count them out yet. The flow #'s listed on their site seem very good. I know they had a reputation in the past for not producing as well as we hoped, but their newer Ls1 heads are killer. So hopefully they have learned something.
