They have Fun Day listed at Beech Bend on October 20 and 27, so I'm sure they would be open to have an event.http://www.beechbend.com/Drag%20Schedule.htm

I want you to look at this NHRA Map

Division #2 and #3 is NOT the center of the USA

You guys are going to make me put my 383" back in. And, I don't care where it is. Got to be closer to Oklahoma than English Town NJ.

Feels like I could get out and run along beside this 350" super stock engine anyway. Keep thinking I'll get used to it and it won't feel so damn slow. I have an NHRA divisional race at Noble, OK Oct 12/14. Maybe it won't be that weekend.

I'd vote for some heads-up classes, an NA & a Power adder, at a given lbs/cubic inch. (pick a number, 8, 9, etc.) The other races (Thunder Shootout), you would have had to be nuts to not run the biggest engine you could find. As the cubic inches went up, the lbs/in went down. Lbs/inch are what all real drag racing sanctioning bodies use to equalize cars. Works great. At 8lbs a 350" could be as light as 2800, a 383" would have to weigh 3064, a 396" 3168, 408" 3264. At 9lbs a 350" would weigh 3150, 383" 3447, a 396" 3564, etc.

Also should have bracket races for the guys that don't think they are fast enough for heads up. When Joe Overton kicks my tail, he won't be popping my cherry. No doubt about that. I've been whooped often and by the best.

Memphis = 4
St. Louis = 5

I haven't read much yet, but I think there should be some TNT or at least a "fun" division of some sort for those that don't want to seriously race.

My Mistake Memphis is BARELY in Div #4 The ONLY NHRA track in Tenn in the Div.

2,500 miles away from my home track Pacific raceways Average $1,600 in fuel to get there and back.

Did you happen to notice ANY thing on the LEFT side of Memphis?

Hey I got it. Lets race at Pacific Raceways. It is just as Centraly located?

Well I have never seen the map before, but now that I look, OK, KA, and NE look like the best choices...KA being the very most centralized.

KRP Kearney Nebraska most central track in USA. This is why a race has never been setup before .....nobody wants to travel they all want it in their home town.GM stepped up with the Memphis LSX deal thats the only reason it will work.

A quick Check sowed 2400 or so miles to Memphis. We have to pull the Cascades and Rockies to get there so Figure 12 MPG in Diesel at a An estimated(price truley un-known) $3.40 a gallon comes to $1360 round trip PLUS a half barrel of 101UL($220)

Not including rooms or food and four days there and four days back

I would be interested in it, but deppending on location! I know we could get something together real quick at Red River Raceway for a division meet! They have been wanting to host something like this. RRR is just outside of Shreveport,la. They hosted are LS1tech shootout in march.
