Off subject, but you should get a programmer for your diesel. A buddy towed my car home from the track and he averaged 24.6 mpg in a 4X4 Crew Cab Dodge Dually (6 speed) he had his set on the 100 horse option.

Im not gonna read through 8 pages of this, so it may have already been listed.... but has it occurred to anyone to have a bunch of regionals, with the winners and top of the class (who i would assume are serious) invited to the national...which would be held at a central-ish location. At a well known track...so people will come. 10 bucks a person to get in, class winner gets a nice payout?

Ellis you are a rare breed! Half of these people wont travel more than 2-4 hours to race. They like the idea of national exposure but dont want to do anything out of their way to get it. If GM had done the same for the LT1 as they are for the LS things would be different but they didnt so we try on our own, but people need to step up. I'm old and have traveled way more than I want to remember many times 2000+miles on a 4 day weekend to race. It sucks! but that is what it will take to get enough cars to make a statement.Good luck setting this up and if my car is ready I'll be there.

Lets see you do that one a 50 mile 10% grade with 20,00o LBS

Really not trying to offend or **** any one off but it in no where near flat around here

BTW 03 D-Max with Custom 80Hp tune Banks CAI and MBRP 4in. Pulling a 10% grade at 80 with 20k is no problem

I hear you. they never gave us much. I will admit hearing Centraly located and Memphis in the same sentance got old 20 years ago

We put 2,200 miles on the truck for the Bonniville race. We also picked up another Vette so they could race to.

You want abuse? Show up at an open road race with a car you run 10s in. Beat to death for days about how it is "different" and we should "Take it easy" Easy my *** we showed up in a 4,300Lbs 700HP TransAm! Blowing the tires away going into second gear a running the numbers to win

Dan- Fort Wayne, IN
A good chance I would attend but like most depends where and when. Being this year it's going to be a little harder to get off work. I almost think it would be a better idea to shoot for next May that we people have time to actually get everything all set up. Two months is not a lot of time to set up this race and for everyone to get there cars all ready or back together.

I'm up for it, been thinking of this myself, glad someone has decided to pursue it more. I live in the Chicago area, so St. Louis would be ideal!!!

If large amounts of cars are needed, that could still be accomplished with having three big events as someone mentioned previously. For the West coast, I suggest Las Vegas.

The fuel gets CHEAPER not more expensive when you head east. Brotha.

And just how many laps do you think you're going to make to use 25-30 gallons of fuel???

No longer have any LT* stuff, but I may keep my eyes on this.... Who knows what I might do on short notice....

Dave,

don't think i didn't notice the manual class, lol! i guess we'll run them off.
That would be cool. If I run you all day long I might just win one. Of course you'll have to miss a shift or somthin'...

BTW I am thinking Division #5?

Division 4. Oklahoma is the state near the middle that looks like a frying pan, in case you flunked geography.

Kansas looks to me to be about as "in the middle" as you can get. Topeka is one hell of a track, but probably expensive to rent.

Guys I agree. If we want to appease to as many folks as possible, we need it centralized. Topeka Kansas looks about as central as we will get.

I am going to post a link to this thread on the impala and corvette forums to start to get them thinking about attending.

Nope, just that Oklahoma is div 4, like the NHRA map. Just ribbing ya a little about guessing div 5.
