I've noticed that many people have posted their "stock lt1 " track times and they have times in the high 8's (well most of them) And i dont see how thats possible. I have not seen a stock lt1 run anything under 9's. ls1 here run high 8's? (kennedale race way)

Guess it kinda depends on what you call stock though. A buddy of mine had an A4 95 trans am that was a consistant 9.2 completely bone stock off the showroom. I'm sure with the right driver, a M6 would dip into the 8's. I have a M6 caprice classic with 130,000 miles, ebay air filter, and budget headers that went 8.9's and i've got around 800-900lbs on an f-body.

Well, my buddys 94 formula went 8.7 in the 1/8 with a G2 intake kit, roller rockers, short shifter and 4.10 gear on nittos spinning moderatly, so if we had my slicks i imagine that it woulda went sub 8.5, other than that i havnt seen a stocker go quicker than 9.0, cant wait to get mine back together and see what it can do.

Ive just noticed that alot of people say that they run high 8s all day with a paper filter stock lt1! Ive just never seen it. Im sure in a m6 its possible but a a4 i really dont think so unless you have a stall.

high 8s?
my bolt-on A4 would run high 7's @ 86 1/8 mile (2800stall 3.23s nittos)
granted that's not stock
but the only internal mod was 1.6 rockers
and yes that is N/A

7s? Not bad, i would be glad to run a low 8 in my 95, it is my DD, the 89RS is my punisher.

Just adding my .02, I have a 94 formula with an LT1/Auto/and at the time 2.73 gears, and the best I could get out of it was a 9.2 in the 1/8 but I feel like if it had a harder launch I could've made an 8.9 in the 1/8. I'd say it's possible b/c my car spun out of the hole.....but I've yet to see one go 8.? in stock form as well. But if anyone has done it good jod! Their car must be a strong runner.

The 2.73 were killing you, and i know you mean 1/8th mile, cause a 9.2 60 foot would be slug speed.

It's not too hard...I went 8.8s at 80-81 with a cutout and that was off a 2.1 60 ft in my 95 M6.

You said the magic word in your sentence....M6... I know if I had a 6 speed 8.? would be easier to accomplish b/c I could've launched harder. My car left at 1500 rpm and spun and then bogged and went 9.2 but some cars are stronger runners also. So 8.? isn't too hard obviously, but I'd need some good tires at least to run in the 8's. Good job by the way!

I put my slicks on my buddys 96 TA and i lainched it @ 5000RPM, needless to say it bogged and busted the trans mount.
