hm...well my experiance tells me ( i;ve broken quite a few bolts off ). drillin can be usfull. But can you move the thing with some vise grips? if not try using the ol screw drive n hammer, use the driver like a chisle and see if the bolt spins. a lot of times the stub part isnt in very tight, you're lucky there is some protrusion.

spray it down with pb blaster, then try turning it with vise grips. Drilling should be one of your last options. If you could get a nut to set on the bolt, get someone to tack weld it and turn the nut with a wrench. There are several ways to try if the bolt is sticking out of the head. Good luck.

soak it over night with good oil, then with visegrips tighten and loosen back and forth going further each time slowly.

i have 2 of them in my driver side head. they are about level with the head so i left them in when doing the headers since they arent utilized.

i was gonna EZ out them. if you can get your hands on a set.

Thanks for the ideas so far guys, i like the bolt-tack weld idea. I was wondering what if i just installed the header, and used that threaded stud (that used to be a bolt) as a stud and then just put a bolt on it? good idea horrendous idea... let me know thanks for the efforts guys

Fix it before you put the header on. How much of the bolt is sticking out?

Which #7 bolt you break? Like said above if it's the last bolt then you won't have to worry about it because headers don't use the hole. If you haven't done the other side yet spray some liquid wrench on them first.

do your best to get it out but if it doesn't don't sweat it too much.

I broke the same bolt the same way, what I did was bought the percy seal-4-good header gaskets and stage 8 locking header bolts. And I used high temp rtv sealent in the head gasket when I put it on. It held up for about 6 months and tha includes racing the car during that time spand and driving it everyday. Personally I think it was probably just becaused I didn't tighten the header bolts enough.
