The weather was decent today and I wanted to tweek with my tune as well as tune the suspension so I hit a Test & Tune session at my local track...

I was happy when right off the trailer and todays baseline looked like this:

60' ... 1.676
330 .. 4.968
1/8 ... 7.752
MPH . 87.98
1000 10.150
1/4 ... 12.161
MPH . 112.64

A few changes got me to:

60' ... 1.655
330 .. 4.932
1/8 ... 7.704
MPH . 88.28
1000 10.100
1/4 ... 12.107
MPH . 112.76

Playing with it a little more got me to 12.0's, an by this point it was well into the afternoon and hotter:

60' ... 1.642
330 .. 4.921
1/8 ... 7.694
MPH . 88.36
1000 10.085
1/4 ... 12.088
MPH . 112.99

I followed that up with another new best of:

60' ... 1.639
330 .. 4.910
1/8 ... 7.684
MPH . 88.29
1000 10.076
1/4 ... 12.078
MPH . 113.16

Just another lightweight bolt-on LT1 car...

Your thinking stock internal record, but that is with a power adder. The Bolt-on LT1 record, is Naturally Aspirated, and was set by Shon Herron of HerronPerformance.com at 11.805 @ 113.96...

Thanks, the interior looks almost stock, minus the passenger seat and the block off plate where HVAC controls and radio once were...

Well you need to update your sig now Have you port and polished? It seems like you're running the stock TB too, I'd suggest going 58, just to ensure ample airflow.

I do need to update my sig, and will soon.

I must have missed part of your question about port and polish, what are you refering to? The heads and intake are bone stock and never removed from the car...

And there is no need for a 58mm TB at this level, I'm not making enough power to warant it, and it would be over kill for a bolt-on car. Also I know a few guys that have slowed down and loss power on the dyno after putting on a 58mm TB when the rest of the combo (stock H/C) couldn't support it...

I see. I was figuring you'd do some work on the stock heads and intake to get as much as possible from them. With that said, I'd at least run a 52mm then. Afterall, it's a bolton.

Might I suggest the 24# SVOs. I upgraded to them and w/o even a tune, noticed better throttle response from them. Then again, mine being a 93, were 22#. Still, they ionize the gas better for a better burn.

I'd also change your fuel filter before each run if you REALLY want to go for the record. Can't be too sure of things you can't see inside of

Hey thanks for the heads up on the fuel filter, I should change it since it has been a few years since I have done so...

Actually I am not really trying for the record right now, just working to dial in the car, but come fall or spring when the weather is cooler, then I will try...

good times man. I got my car to 2900lbs, so 3080 with me in it. I took about everything out of the car minus some wiring and still got stock steering wheel with airbag and a few other things i need to take out. Ill be in the 29xx lbs with me in it. But i got a cam and spray and im seein how fast i can go with a cam only lt1 on spray.

2900lbs Good Luck, I think 10's would be easy with that weight.

Thank's guys...

Taubr Unit - I still have a good deal of weight to remove before needing to spend money on other weight reduction stuff.

Also, when I get the time I am hoping to pull another 40-50# out, but right now I need to get the car dialed in for a race next week in a points series I race in. And, as most of you guys know changing a lot of things normally means a lot of tweeking to get it going down the track just right, and I don't have the time within the week to mess with it any more...

fast - I will try for Shon's record later in the season when the weather gets better...

i dont see how a t.b would hurt at all...id have to see numbers for that...ir reccomend bigger injectors(simply for batter pattern and so it all get in the cylinder quicly vs the stock injectors having to spray a longer time and maybe getting some on the bck of the valves)
i think both will get you something...also a aluminum driveshaft?

upper panhard rod gone??
charcoal canister?
i hear ls1 front brakes/spindles are lighter than lt1 stuff...(ellis)
also k-member lowers and uppers...manual rack over the stock rack/looped...

couple ideas^^

if you had a little bigger converter/4.10 that would prolly get you there and beat that old record with an auto! id be seriusly impressed!

That's good advice if you want him to slow down his car. And stock internals means stock heads too. And there is no reason to change the fuel filter every run unless he is pouring sand into his gas tank.
