Default Shaking

My car seems to shake when it sits at idle for a long time. Its fine for a while, but then the whole cabin starts to shake. Then when you accelerate, it bogs for a second and then goes, does it once more upon acceleration, and then it runs fine...What could be the problem?

Sounds like it runs bad once it goes in closed loop. It could be anything like the MAP, O2s, MAF, etc. Get a scan tool on it and make sure all the sensors are working properly.

It will cost you about $200 for the cable and software if you have a laptop. Otherwise just go to a good shop and have them scan it. If they know what they're doing, they can easily see if something's not right. But remember, you'll have to know what is normal if you do it yourself.

The hissing sounds from the gas tank is normal. Just built it pressure.

As for the coolant light.. check your coolant level. Not much to it. One thing to look at is your waterpump. If you are loosing coolant and you notice coolant dripping from the waterpump.. bye bye optispark!

is it normal for engine heat to be coming into the cabin? i never had this problem on my 94 camaro. Its not unbearable, but you can definitely feel a noticeable temp change. My car runs anywhere from 180-220 degrees, would the coolant reduce that a little bit? Also, a 160 t-stat is next on the list, would that also help?

Heat from the dash underneath is normal too. I leave my A/C settings on cold when off. If it's a little chilly, I just turn it to hot but still keep it off. It gets pretty warm.
180-220* is normal stock. A 160* stat will stay at 170-180*. Just make sure the fans are tuned for the stat.

thanks for the help man, what should the oil pressure gauge be reading? Mine hangs at about 20, and then goes to about 40 on acceleration, is that normal?

the low coolant light is usually just a malfunctioning sensor. If your coolant level is actually ok then you shouldn't worry about that.

Oil is normal too. Have you got the car checked out yet? It's probably the o2s. Those kill over the majority of the time.

I am actually having the exact same problem. When i did my header swap i removed the AIR/EGR without tuning them out. Although my plugs were not black i believe im running a little rich.... because when i pulled the O2's they were covered in carbon build up. I'm pretty sure the O2's arent supposed to be black so im doin a tune and replacin the sensors to hopefully fix it.
