Default i hate optis

well i found that my opti was goin bad so i orderd one from acell got it in (after 2 months of back order). Should have known then to cancel it and get a diff brand...well got it in and one of the mounting holes that bolt to the block were broke off and the opti was so hard to spin like the bearing were 100 yrs old. I pulled it apart and the metal wheel(i think its called a relucter wheel, or optical wheel..corrcect if wrong trying to remeber) but it was bent all to ****. Sent it back to orileys. they got me a new one in on the next fri. Hook it up and the car wornt spin back 3,000RPM... and idles rough and back fires alot. so i put the old otpi in and runs fine. well runs fine for 30 mins and then it gets hot and starts to brake down and run shity. so i am a stand still so im letting the car sit for a couple days till i get the MSD BILLIT ALUM in...and the only reason im letting it sit is cuz just spent all my money on the msd and no money for gas ...haha

sorry for rambling just agravated

still gata love the LTx's tho

I have heard nothing but bad about the Accel distributors also, however I myself have never purchased one so I am spouting hear say. I like genuine OEM parts. I dont care for the cost of the MSD and I myself would go the Del Teq route.

Sucks that you had to R/R that sucker twice. Oh well you must be getting fast at it by now! 3rd time is a charm. lol

Don't buy parts store optis. They don't seem to have a good rep (I speak from experience). Stick with GM or if you've got the dough and faith, MSD or Dyanspark.

DONE!!!!

i jsut got the MSD put on the car and it runs great!!!

i also put some TR6s in it with new 8mm wires, and well i took the exhaust off the stock manifolds and well i soaked the bolts in penatrating oil and i got 4 of the bolts of and BROKE 2 , well took it to the exhaust shop in den and well he heated the studs up and got them out. put me some new one in and i was good to go, or so i thought. when he had heated and welded the removing bolt to the stud it burnt my brand new wire for cylinder # 7 , well went and bought a brand NEW set of wires and just used the one for #7.

well all in all the car has never ran better then today...parts list now

MSD billit opti
water pump
NGK TR6s
8mm wires
Accell coil
ignition module
..and a spare set of wires(damnit)

go msd man. I had a bad opti and literally just replaced mine within this past week. The car sounds so much better with the msd, not different in exhaust but sounds healthier if you get want i mean.

I would go MSD or if your that pissed with the opti go delteq. The only thing there is that the delteq still requires you to run the opti (no juice thru the opti) but you need it to run the bypass i guess. That's sounds retarded to me because you still have an opti on the car lol. So i went with the MSD and i'm very very pleased.

What? You still need the optical disc of the opti to act as a cam position sensor.
