Dyno#/track times
Ok, so I wasn't expecting my ET's to be great, only my second time to a track, first time 1/4. I'm disappointed in my trap speeds though, then again its FL in August, its stupid hot. And I couldn't stay in it the whole time for either of my two 1/4 runs. First 4 runs were 1/8th due to the end of the track taking its sweet *** time drying. I ran out at Orlando Speed World last night, quite a few LT1 cars out there.
Ah now the dyno numbers. Its funny cause I always tell people I'll be lucky if it puts down around 300 to the wheels.
RevXtreme in Tampa is a nice shop, great folks there. I was going to get it tuned today, but he said after looking at the runs he probably could only get about 5-8hp out of it. Said the A/F is just about spot on.

dont mean to dog you man but something is way off. a stock z28 should be running better than those numbers, not one making 300 rwhp. 60 is WAY off, but still et should be better than that. even the 1/4 mile time is better than what it should be, considering the 1/8 mile time. for instance, the 9:25 pm run you had a 9.66 in the 1/8. multiply that by 1.55 to get your estimated 1/4 and you get 14.97. you ran a 14.49 without staying in it the whole time, but that is probably due to the horrible 60. your mph is great considering your et. im running the same trap with a 13.48 for comparison. i also went to http://www.rpmoutlet.com/dyno.htm and punched in some numbers (3750 lbs, 300 hp) and got an estimated 13.5 et. work on that 60 and then see what it runs, still something else wrong i would think. sorry, dont mean to be a dick or anything

yea, the more i think about it, ide say almost all of your problem is that 60 foot. and like zone said, the calculators are good for a ROUGH estimate. in this case it does show that he should be a lot better (1.5 seconds) than what hes running.

If I get in it at all it seems to spin bad. I don't know if its the 4.10s or what. It seemed the quicker I short shifted 1st my trap speed would drop and it wouldn't guarantee I wouldn't spin in 2nd. I wish FL had more tracks, they are crowded normally, I'm being told I was lucky to get 6 runs out at Orlando.
So yeah I'm on street tires and this is my second time to a track, I haven't figured out a way to leave the line yet. If I don't have any sticky tires, what should I try next time?

Lower the psi a little in the tires to help. Other than that just practice. On your first 1/4 try, look at the car next to you. He trapped a lower speed and still beat you by .5+ seconds. And he only cut a 2.25 60' . Get that 60 down and youll be mid 13's easy. And on the last run you trapped 2mph more and he beat ya by almost a full second. Just practice that 60 footer and youll have no problems at the track next time.

This is why I rel;igiously practice upgrading suspension before horsepower. If you can't get it to the ground than what good is it to have? IDK by your sig it says all the usual stuff, but if you haven't increased your suspension thats where you need to start. BTW I agree 100% those 60' times are ridiculous.

Ah well here is the fun part......
Spohn cromoly LCA's, panhard rod, torque arm. SLP subframe connectors. Can't preach that to me much, what do I have left to do out back? LCA relocation brackets, thats it.
You won't ever see drag springs on this car, so don't suggest those. I enjoy my rock solid feeling car at 150.
I know my sig says the usual stuff, but well who knows what the entails?
thanks though, I know where you are coming from, some people out there have 600 rwhp and no work done elsewhere.
