Any of you guys custom fab your OEM one into an 1LE? Im in the process of doing mine right now (boredom). I was wondering if any of you have done it.
I didn't make one, but I did buy an aluminum from ebay a while back, it was a very nice piece, I no longer have an LT1, but I remeber that it came with silicone couplers, clamps and a good price for the item, it was a company called CRT Performance or something like that.

I did. I cut off the end of a V05 shampoo bottle and crammed it in there, then put a hose clamp around it
I'm sure adding some silicone around it would help the MAF guys if it does leak. Running SD I could've cared less. I then found my vortec alu one and that's on now.

I was reading about the bottle trick. I had to do a makeshift one.I trimmed 90% of the flange where the tube was off. Then took the tube (resinator?) and cut that into a piece, which filled the whole, and sealed it with some RTV. It hasnt dried yet, but I hope itll work. If not Im going to walmart for some V05!

Ah, I knew it was a common brand
I was using V05, and it was easy, plus it fit well. I'll snap a pic and upload it here in a min or two.
EDIT: Ah, that's right. It fit so tight I didn't need to use a hose clamp. I just pushed it in as hard as I could and got it flush with the inside of the elbow so it wouldn't cause any air flow restrictions or turbulence.

Well I got my new fuel filter put in (50k miles old
) and put my new/old elbow on. I didnt notice anything except a little bit better throttle response. But if it helped, then it was well worth the 10 minutes I spent on it.
