Ok......just don't lock into it until we discuss it. One may be better than the other for different reasons.

Hey Joel,

One option is to piggyback our event with the MidWest Shootout that Todd Tosto puts on. This event is November 3rd at KCIR. I am working with Todd on that right now.

The other option Jeff is working on. It is I think fbody-event.org or something. A large race in the spring. Jeff knows more about that one. He is waiting on a vote from the organizers if they will allow us to piggyback their event.

Either one sounds good Tony! An extra 400-700 miles may not sound like much but is an extra two days round trip for us

Keep us up to date.

I'm still in for a spring (can't do fall) event somewhere in the middle of the country.

OK, I've been gone for a while and missed the updates. I'm trying to start a business and it's kicking my ***. Anyway, why not come to Fl in the winter? You could sell your spouse on a track event / vacation for married guys(+girlfriends). BMP is a simply awesome track, it hooks hard! Last time I organized a track event their it was $40 a car with an 80 car minimum. This is about 45 minutes south of Tampa and really close to the beaches!

Update:

Ok......this is a copy and paste from Jeff's PM to me today.

"I have some news not great but its not a no either. They would be willing to set up a top dog lt1 class this would be for the fastest lt1s around probably a quick 16 type thing. they would also be willing to deal with a lt1 bracket class. They would not be willing to set up multiple lt1 only classes as this would disturb the rest of the event to much. Everyone would be welcome to partake in all of the event festivities. I know this isn't what any of us really wanted but it is a way to bring all of the fast lt1s to one place and get a race in and probably some magazine coverage. This could lead to a real event in the future."
"Three day event and it is an awsome event I go every year. http://www.fbody-event.org/ This year it is in Memphis May 15-17 I beleive."

This is an option guys.......what do you guys think?

The other option with Tosto may not work. The pre-registration ends October 1st and the event to piggyback from is in November. Just too early to get the ball rolling for our event.

That could possibly work as it's far enough away that everyone can plan to have time off work and budget the trip. One thing to consider is what other events are going on that month. Last year the Pump Gas Drags were the weekend before at the same facility, and then World Ford Challenge was the same weekend in Indy. I know what some of you will say, but that was a Ford Event. It was, but the rumor for next year is that it's going to be open to ALL makes/models. So some of the bigger heavy hitters may want to go to Indy for the bigger payouts.

I was hopeing for the Spring Shootout in March that Tosto puts on, not the one coming up in November. Maybe they are not going to do it next spring?
