Shocks and springs NEED SOME GOOD INFO
Hey guys, I'm looking to put a new set of shocks and springs onto my formula that wont set me back much but make a decent diffrence so i dont hear the front or rear clunk from old stock shocks and springs. . .I'm not looking for a beefy performance setup just something that'll run with a close to stock car and be pretty soft on the budget. this car isn't a street killer and i'm not planning on doing anything to crazy to it anytime soon. . .just dont feel that going to vatozone sounds like a good plan on a smooth and comfortable ride.

Thanks, yeah i'm aware the springs dont have to do with clunking but i figured while i was at it i would switch for a better more road worthy spring. . .should have been more clear on that sorry! haha

depends on what the direction of the car is headed. drag, id say qa1's and stock springs out back. if youre looking for corner carving or just something that rides good id go with strano's revalved bilsteins and his springs. gives a little bit of a drop but the ride quality is improved. and the revalves are not the same as the hd's so dont order one thinking youre getting the other.

It sounds like your car is a typical, stockish, DD. In that case, go with the Bilsteins and stock springs. The stock springs really are not bad, while the shocks are terrible. Replacing them will net you the most noticeable gain.

Alright I'll try this Bilsteins route. . . .how much does a set usually set you back? - This car is daily driver stockish just like you said I've got my attention focused on the camaro at this point on modifications (383 stroker *cough*) I have a set of edelbrock shocks and springs on that one right now but meh - i'm not a fan of edelbrock really. . .

If you don't believe me, give Strano a call and see what he says. http://www.stranoparts.com/

Oh I know Bilstiens are top notch. Hell GM used them in their high end cars/packages. My buddy's Vette has the air-ride adjustable kind.
What about getting DeCarbons again? Possible? I now they're like a step below Bilstiens.
I mean, here, check this.
And
So are they Bilstiens or Koni?
EDIT: Sadly, every partnumber is dead @ gmpartsdirect

Interesting note: in the last few years of the 1LE package (on non-SS), they went with Koni DA's.

Well I'm no street racer or drag monkey, so I'm looking for something that will keep me stiff going around a corner fast just having fun, and give good daily driver "comfort". Right now I feel everything since they're pretty well toast. I don't need adjustable shocks or anything.
