Default exhaust straight pipe damage question

I have a set of pacesetter headers with the offroad y pipe. After the y pipe there is about a foot of exhaust pipe and then it is dumped through a turndown. Am i damaging anything running this exhaust?
Ps. I only drive the car on the weekends.

Most would run a little longer but I dont see why that would not work fine. It will be sound as **** though. Right under the cabin.

as long as its more than 18" off the collectors you wont hurt anything. but i dont know how you would seeing alot of people run open headers on older cars. when engine braking the exhaust creates a vacuum and sucks cold air in that could crack your exhaust valves.

but you do need about 18" so the o2 sensors dont measure the cooler dense air making your AFR way off.

I wouldn't think it would be different than dumping duals at the axle. You should be just fine I would, however, recommend adding on a bullet behind the Y pipe.

When I installed my LT's and ORY I started my car with open y pipe and it wasn't really any different in volume compared to running the exhaust through my cat back, just a different tone. I'm running the SLP loudmouth 2 so it's loud no matter what I do. lol

starting a car with open headers isnt that loud. driving it and giving it some gas is a totally different story.

Yeah I remember when I put my headers on I had to go to work. The next morning when day shift came in I fired it up, waited about a minute and revved it to 5k. Then promptly left. People told me the senior chief in charge that morning poked his head out in a WTF?! manner. I then had to drive to the exhaust shop to have the ypipe all welded up to the catback, that **** was ridiculously loud.

Yeah, don't think you will have a problem with hurting anything, the only two things you may have is A) enough back pressure not to move all your power up to high in the rpm range, and B) being able to hear again.. but other than that clean looking set up.
