Poll: National LTX Shootout.....Classes?
The Index, Outlaw and Heads up classes look good.
I dont think many slow cars will show if the event is further then 100mi from there locations, its just not worth it to some people.
Tony.
not a drop of gas eh, well i imagine that is on the trailer to and from the track.lol!
no pump gas, i hear ya, just my .02, i was thinking outloud.
so outlaw 8 p/a, outlaw 8 n/a , then quick 8 p/a, and quick 8 n/a. is that about right? i voted 6 spd class, but i guess i would fit into the outlaw 8 p/a.
if lightly modded cars won't show if it is 100 miles then wow! i drive 130 miles just to go racing anywhere in canada.
tony,
you'll have to get by me
....maybe....nice to see about 60 votes already !!!!
The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
My car is currently under the knife fixing my suspension issues turns out my poly bushings were not happy with 1000+RWTQ! rod ends on everything now! The current combo should be good for 8.80s the big blower project who knows but I think I'll need to upgrade the cage!
I am running GM LT1 head castings though!
You could easily do a manual transmission only class if there are enough cars to compete (although I’m not sure how many cars you’ll get to compete with Taner)… I’d say the breakout could go like this…
LTX OUTLAW: Anything goes class, multiple power adders, Must be LTX OEM block with 23 degree cylinder heads, any displacement, aftermarket engine mgmt allowed, any transmission allowed. Possible weight breaks depending on choice of power adder. For example Turbo cars must weigh 3400, supercharged 3300, and nitrous 3200 for example only. No full tubs, cars may be minitubbed but must limit tire to 10.5” tire.
LTX POWER ADDER: Similar to above but vehicle limited to single power adder. Tranmissions limited to OEM Manuals or Autos (TH400, TH350, Glide) No Jericho’s, G-Force manuals, etc… Aftermarket engine mgmt allowed, 10.5” tire, minitubbing allowed. ALL VEHICLES REQUIRE UPHOLSTERED INTERIOR. No tin dash, etc. VFN dash allowed
LTX NATURAL ASPIRATION: OEM LTX block with 23* heads, any displacement, OEM trannies manual or auto, 10.5” tires, aftermarket engine mgmt allowed, no power adders. Make minimum curbweight of like 3200 lbs raceweight to eliminate ragged out strippers.
LTX MANUAL TRANSMISSION: Same as OUTLAW only with manual tranny required. No Jerico’s and G-forces.
LTX Street Stock P/A: OEM LTX block with 23 degree heads PLUS OEM LTX Manifold. NO Single plane conversions, no rear mount distributors, no aftermarket engine mgmt, reprogrammed PCM’s allowed as well as hypertech programmers, LTCC allowed, Dynaspark allowed. One power adder allowed, 10.5” tires max, no minitubs (this class is indicative of the typical street LT1 not converted to full out drag use)
LTX Street Stock N/A: Same as above only without power adders.
10.00 INDEX CLASS-Run whatcha brung headsup on a 10.0 index. Stock electronics, no throttle stops, delay boxes, etc….
11.00 INDEX CLASS-same as above
12.00 INDEX CLASS-same as above
Bracket class… (maybe)
Car should be able to run 8.80's in full out race trim......
Sittin on some fresh new Bogart D10's in about 8 more days.....

and not a chute in sight....
Not sure if you will win Outlaw......especially if Z8's or Rick Intrau show up. LOL!
